Following our registration with the Care Quality Commission in September 2011 we took on the 'Daisy Mark' accreditation through the NHS. Caremark (Oldham) were the first home care company to sign up to this challengeThe Daisy Accreditation is about demonstrating to our customers that we deliver care with dignity and respect. We then went on to win The One Oldham Business Start-Up

award for 2012 which we're very proud of and realise this would not be possible without our hardworking Care & Support Workers who are the 'face' of our business. We are delighted to have reached our first year milestone and would like to say a big 'Thank You' to every member of the staff team for their contribution towards making this year such a success. We are passionate about the quality of our provision and are proud of our dedicated Care & Support Workers who are always prepared to 'go the extra mile' to ensure the well-being of our customers. We have come a long way in our first year and we look forward to building and developing our future service.

Today, we're sharing a special story that highlights how a role in care can change lives—not only for the people we support and their families, but also for those who choose a career in care.

When Asiya joined Caremark Oldham in early 2023 while completing her university degree, she never imagined care would become her long-term career path. What began as a job soon became a passion, as she experienced first-hand the difference compassionate care can make to people's lives.

Three years later, Asiya is now one of our Field Care Supervisors and continues to develop her skills, knowledge, and leadership within the care sector.

Her journey is a wonderful example of how a career in care can offer purpose, progression, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of customers and their families every day.

💙 The Power of Meaningful Relationships in Care 💙

During National Carers Week, we're celebrating the incredible relationships that develop between our customers and Care Assistants.

We recently spoke with Cirsty after her amazing trip to London for Caremark’s Care for a Wish, about the support she receives and what makes her care team so special.
When asked about her relationships with her Care Assistants, Cirsty shared:
"I've got some great girls and guys who come to see me, and I always look forward to their visits. I feel really connected to some of the staff because they're such lovely people and always go out of their way to help me.
Some of them will sit and have a chat, and I enjoy hearing about their lives. It helps because it doesn't feel like everything is focused on me and my health all the time. Those conversations help take my mind off things and really lift my spirits."

We also asked Cirsty what she values most about her Care Assistants:
"They're all individuals with their own personalities. Yes, they're here to support me, but they bring so much more than that. I love that Wanda always makes time to fuss over my cats. Amelia tells me all about her weekends, which really boosts my mood. And I love knowing when Michelle is coming because it helps me keep a routine. I'm very happy with all the staff who support me."

At Caremark, we know great care is about more than completing tasks. It's about companionship, trust, consistency and the meaningful connections that help people live well at home.
