'I can't.' Two words that kill more good ideas than any competitor ever will.
I see it in sales teams all the time. Someone has a rough month, one deal falls through, and suddenly the story in their head becomes 'I can't do this' instead of 'that one didn't work out.' Michael Jordan missed over 9,000 shots in his career and lost almost 300 games. Thomas Edison used to say he hadn't failed, he'd just found 10,000 ways that wouldn't work. Neither of them let one bad result become their whole identity.
The trick isn't pretending setbacks don't sting. It's catching the negative thought before it becomes the story you tell yourself about who you are. 'I can't' closes a door. 'I can't yet' leaves it open.
Tag someone who needs reminding that one bad week doesn't mean they've lost it.
