We get asked a lot whether it’s better to put solar panels on the roof or out in the garden as a ground mount.

While roofs are the go-to for most standard homes, if you have the space, a ground-mounted system has some massive advantages—especially if you're dealing with planning restrictions or want to keep your house looking exactly as it is:

☀️Zero impact on your home’s aesthetics: If you’ve spent time restoring a beautiful old property, or you just love the traditional look of your slate or clay tiles, you might not want to cover them up with modern solar panels. Placing the array down in a paddock or garden completely preserves your home's kerb appeal.

☀️Perfect alignment & more power: With a roof, you're stuck with whatever direction your house faces. With a ground mount, we can face the panels dead south at the absolute perfect angle to squeeze every single drop of generation out of the sun.

☀️They stay cooler: Solar panels actually lose efficiency when they get too hot. Roof tiles trap heat beneath them, whereas a ground mount has constant airflow all around it, keeping them cooler and performing better in the peak of summer.

☀️Perfect for listed buildings or conservation areas: Getting planning permission for roof solar on a listed property or in a historic area can be an absolute nightmare (and often gets rejected). A ground mount can usually be tucked out of sight entirely, keeping the planning officers happy while still giving you all the benefits of green energy.

☀️Easier upkeep: No scaffolding, no roof ladders, and no braving heights just to clear off leaves or check a connection. Everything is right there at chest height.

If you’ve got a bit of unshaded land, a large garden, or a property that isn't quite right for roof solar, drop us a message. We can take a look and map out exactly what would work best for your space. ☀️🌾

New Installation Near Caistor! ☀️ ⚡️

The team has been busy near Caistor, completing a high-performance solar and storage solution designed for maximum energy independence. This system was designed to make the most of the available sunlight across the property, featuring a multi-roof layout and massive battery capacity.
The Setup
⚡️18 x AIKO All-Black 475W Panels: These sleek, high-efficiency panels were installed across 3 different roof spaces to capture energy throughout the day. ⚡️Hybrid Solar Inverter: The "brain" of the system, managing power flow between the panels, the home, and the grid.
⚡️15kW Battery Storage: We installed 3 x 5kW batteries, giving the homeowners a 15kW capacity to store solar energy for use at night or during peak times.
⚡️EV Charger: Integration of a dedicated charge point, allowing the client to fuel their vehicle with 100% clean, self-generated energy.

This home is now significantly protected against rising energy costs!💰
