Genesis Biosciences UK That means, our team provide product solutions which out-perform the harsh and often environmentally-damaging alternatives produced by chemical manufacturers.

Our team provide application-specific biological product solutions for wastewater, washrooms, marine industries and homecare which out-perform harsh conventional chemicals for a cleaner, more sustainable world. Genesis Biosciences UK is a global biosciences company with the unique capability to research and ferment bacteria strains and develop safe and natural application-specific microbial and antimicrobial products using eco-benign technology. The really great thing is we match the bacteria to the problem at hand. Most biological providers create a bacterial 'soup' where the strains fight against each other and often die. They make a difference - but not one which is optimised. Our team research the problem and apply only the bacteria strains which deal with that problem - and they really work. It's a bit like competing a family car with a Formula 1 hybrid with the objective of finishing first. They both work, but which one wins? We are making giant strides in numerous markets and helping fish farms produce more, healthier, heavier fish by improving the water quality, we're helping keep buildings clean inside and out and leave a film of healthy bacteria to keep on working long after chemical solutions have lost their use; we're solving waste water problems by reducing the ammonia, digesting fats oils and grease and enabling water to re-oxygenate and we're supporting the marine industry through revolutionary products which protect marine equipment, reducing maintenance and cutting the cost of grey water waste. Genesis Biosciences UK is about bacteria and environmentally sound solutions; but it's also about people - ours and yours - and we try our best to make life just a little better for everyone by being human and identifying with what is important to you, your business and your customers and providing verified and validated scientific solutions which really work. Please contact us to see if we can help you win.

What exactly is a solvent and why are solvents used in cleaning products?

Solvents can perform several important functions within a cleaning formulation from helping ingredients remain stable to controlling viscosity and influencing drying.

But different solvents have very different properties, which means choosing the right chemistry for the application matters.

In our latest article, we take a closer look at the science of solvents in cleaning products, how they work alongside water and surfactants, and where biological technologies can offer another approach to tackling organic soils.

What happens after wastewater goes down the drain onboard a ship?
As comes to an end, we’re turning our attention offshore.

From showers and sinks to galleys and toilets, vessels generate both greywater and blackwater, containing everything from sewage and organic waste to fats, oils, grease and detergents.

Watch our short explainer to discover what happens to wastewater onboard and how Biotal Marine biotechnology can support effective blackwater and greywater treatment systems https://loom.ly/CJ5z4GY

What happens to fats, oils and grease after they disappear from view?

Simply emulsifying FOG can move the problem further downstream. Our GDL technology takes a different approach, using specially selected microbial strains to biologically degrade fats, oils and grease.

Independent testing demonstrated approximately 80% degradation of edible oils – around four times that achieved by the competitor blends tested.

Watch this webinar clip to discover the science behind GDL and why complete degradation matters.

Ever wondered how enzymes help make cleaning more effective?

Different enzymes are designed to tackle different types of stains and soils. Proteases break down protein-based messes, amylases target starch, lipases work on fats and oils and cellulases can even help keep fabrics looking fresher by releasing trapped dirt.

These natural biological catalysts each have a specific job, which is why selecting the right enzyme is so important in cleaning formulations.

Cleaning regimes can become increasingly complex over time, with different products, dilution rates, training requirements and purchasing cycles all adding to the operational burden.

But could simplifying that regime actually deliver meaningful sustainability gains?

Our latest feature in Tomorrow’s FM explores how reducing product complexity and streamlining cleaning operations can help FMs tackle sustainability, procurement and operational efficiency together.

Too many cleaning products = Too much complexity

For busy facilities, keeping track of different cleaners and odour-control products can quickly become a headache with more products to store, staff to train and systems to manage.

Evogen ONE is designed to make professional cleaning simpler.
