Tomorrow the annual Two Temple Place exhibition opens and as usual I had the immense pleasure of helping the team condition check and install the works: it's always such a treat to see everything coming out of crates and boxes before anyone else has a chance to see it.

This year's theme is around resilience and mental health, and the exhibition is called The Weight of Being. It's completely FREE to attend (you just have to find yourself in central London between January 24th and April 19th 2026).

I'm getting back to work! For now it's only one day per week, and as usual the workshop will only be open to visitors by prior appointment.

If you've got something you'd like conserved or repaired, get in touch and I'll see what I can do. Even if something isn't on the list, it's worth asking!

You can get in touch by:
- Commenting on this post
- Sending me a direct message here on Facebook
- Emailing me on [email protected]
- WhatsApping me on 07721 365973 (phone calls will likely get missed as I'm a new mum)

I can't collect items from you, but you're welcome to drop them off or have them couriered. My little workshop is just off Guildhall Square in Carmarthen.

I'm now on maternity leave until 2026. Wish me luck!

This page and my Meta inbox will be unmonitored until I return, the phone will be off, and I'll be focusing on other things (as you might imagine). If something is urgent you can email me on [email protected] -- I won't be checking that account very frequently, but it will be checked occasionally, as time and energy allows. (I don't have any assistants to task with this so self-employed life demands some wiggle room.)

As always, I look forward to working on more broken things and fun projects when I return.

I wish you all a very happy summer, autumn, and frankly winter too!

See you in the new year!

It's another ! This beautiful Art Nouveau ceramic was missing a few elements (one hand and one sash) that needed recreating and in-painting. Happy they're back in their home now!

It's and I thought I'd share some gnome friends I had on the bench recently (they're back in their rightful home now though).

These antique gnomes had suffered some frost damage and paint flaking from a time outdoors, and needed cleaning, reconstruction, and painting to look like themselves again.

They won't withstand being outdoors again, but they clearly didn't appreciate the fresh air to begin with, so hopefully they're loving a comfortable retirement indoors!

A big thank you to everyone who came along to my masterclass talk on caring for metals yesterday! 🥄 I loved answering your questions and having a natter afterwards, as always.

I'm extra chuffed people liked the zines so much, as they were really fun to make. 📰

Big thanks to Preservation Equipment Ltd. for having me on their stall again this year - as always it was fun catching up!

It's been just about a year since I got the keys to this glorious place, and I just wanted to say I think it's one of the best things I've ever done. My sunshine yellow workspace really makes me happy! ☀️

It took me a few months to get moved in properly as there was plenty to do before I could get set up, but early May was when my lease officially started. Since then I've built furniture, painted walls and floors, decorated the walls with fun things, made sure everything has a place to be tidied away to, and reiterated again and again if something wasn't working for my brain. (The perks of being neurodiverse and self-employed is that I can make all those little adjustments!)

It's a happy workplace, and in summer it's of course extra lovely.

Have you been to visit yet? (Admittedly you've got to ask me if I'll be in first!)

This week I've been travelling again: this time to London, to help the folks at Two Temple Place take down this year's temporary exhibition.

My job was to condition check the many objects and artworks on display and make sure they were still doing well after being part of the exhibition since January.

It's one of my fav jobs all year and it's a joy to keep coming back to it! Their exhibitions are always wonderful.

This week's adventure was a jaunt to north Wales: first a pit stop in Wrexham, then on to Bangor to do another salvage exercise with Cyswllt-Cadwraeth/Connect-Conserve Cymru for the Welsh government.

We were treated to a sunny day so we actually did most of it outside: this was a joy but also presented some additional little hiccups like potential sunburn, being mildly threatened by seagulls, things drying TOO quickly or becoming sun bleached, and the ever present risk of a gentle breeze blowing something away!

Thank you so much to everyone around North Wales who came out for the day, it was a joy to see you all and help you feel a little more prepared in case disaster strikes.

Back to the workbench next week, I promise!
