I can’t believe I’m writing this but Sunday 20th April saw the 10th anniversary of PeakHR. No big celebrations for us as a team just yet due to lots of holidays over Easter, I just painted some fences in the garden.
I probably should be telling you that I started the business with a goal to bring HR to the masses or something equally driven, but in reality, I just needed to earn some money after my last employed role ended a few months earlier.
When I look back at what has happened since then it blows my mind. The excitement of the first invoice. The first hire! The second hire! The third hire!! Honestly, there was never a plan but somehow here we are, here I am.
This job is never easy, we affect people’s lives and sometimes it’s bloody hard, but I continue to do this job that surrounds us with conflict on a daily basis by ensuring that I work with sensitivity, kindness and fairness in everything that we do. Even if that means telling our clients, and their staff, things they don't really want to hear.
I'm super proud to say that we still work with our very first client and we continue to onboard new clients across diverse industries. We are also adding more services and products to our clients. Who knows, maybe there is a plan after all. 🤷♀️
This business would be nothing without the unwavering support of my team, Lorna, Fiona and Diane who work hard everyday to provide great HR advice and support to you. Also, our extended support team of Owen Conti, Kayleigh Bate, Paul Baguley, Andy Peat, Emma Tegerdine, James Lyon, Jas Darar, Jemma Taylor-Smith plus our wonderful friends and contacts Will Diggins, Suzanne Dixon, Helen Dargie, Andrew Deighton, Nic Elliott, and so many more. My thanks go to you all for your support, words of wisdom, motivation, giggles and cups of tea. ☕
Here's to the next 10!! 🥂
