This week Jamie Baines is in charge of …

“Hi, I’m Jamie – a Senior Construction Manager at Pentadel Project Management. I recently celebrated my 3-year anniversary with Pentadel and have seen the great evolution of over the last few years. My first project at Pentadel was at the B&M Distribution Centre, which at the time was the largest Distribution Centre in the UK at 1.2 million sq. ft. Since then, I have been involved in nine other projects spanning the entire country; I'm currently managing a programme of works at Charlie Bigham's. I recently completed my NVQ Level 7 in Senior Construction Management and plan to become chartered before the end of the year, with Pentadel's support - this is a great place to work if you want to keep learning and developing!

Part of my role on the front line of our live projects is to promote the five pillars of our Pentadel Partnership Programme (Safety, Environment, Quality, Collaboration and Respect) - making sure the wider site team lives and breathes these values and works together safely to deliver great work for the client. This is paramount to successful delivery of each project and these pillars help to support long-standing partnerships across the supply chain."

We can’t believe it’s nearly the end of May - and the final week of our , which we launched in celebration of our status as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces 2022.

Hi ! I’m Harry, I have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and I am a technical graduate at Pentadel. During my degree at I particularly enjoyed learning about manufacturing processes and the mechanical design aspects of the course, which fit perfectly into my role at Pentadel.

During my degree I completed a placement year at a manufacturing facility in Devon which involved analysing the processes inside the facility and how they could be improved/streamlined to reduce lead times. I thoroughly enjoyed this and Pentadel has allowed me to take this one step further by working in a team to design whole facilities from the ground up with production processes in the forefront actively shaping the building itself to create an efficient facility.

I thought I’d share a bit about working in Cheltenham! A healthy work life balance is so important to Pentadel and the location of the offices allows just that. Right on the Promenade in Cheltenham I'm able to get around town quite quickly. My commute is literally 10 minutes and if I walked another 10 I would be in the countryside. It’s the benefits of a city with countryside on your door step!
