Wins and losses: February review

It really helps to look back over the past month before you start on a brand new one.

You can celebrate your wins and learn from the things that didn't work out:

Here are my highlights:

✅ Delivered 8 days of face to face training

❌ Absolute worst part of the month was when I found out that my mum potentially had cancer. They have operated and it looks like she has the all clear, but that derailed me massively. Thank you to those of you who knew, for your kind support - it meant so much

✅ Met the fabulous Pritha Dubey - we have so much in common it's spooky! It is so good when I get to meet with fellow sales trainers out there and share what we're up to! Zoom means we can do this anywhere in the world. What a privilege!

✅ Had a photo session in Salford Quays with my friend Julia Latham who is starting a photography business - it was a pure swap - I will be helping her to launch. It also meant I got to stay with her in Bollington!

✅ Lots of travelling around (yes, I'm the weirdo who loves to travel!) Manchester, Central London, Salford Quays, Coventry, Nottingham, Leigh-on-Sea, Sidcup.

❌ February - revenue-wise down by about 40% on this time last year, but my calendar has never been so full, so, keeping focussed on the big picture - coming into the final month of the year, I am massively ahead of the last financial year.

✅ Went to the West End with my children - we saw Noises Off - a brilliant farce and just spent a super day mooching around Covent Garden and China Town.

So, going into March, I am looking forward to more of the same and even more travel!

Are your team failing to perform?

Are you struggling to meet your revenue goals?

Well, don't be tempted to chuck a ton of money at the latest new gizmo, gadget or piece of shiny software.

Instead go back to basics - you will probably see the biggest return over the longest period of time.

I've done a lot of sales training in my life and these are the things that cause the biggest issues:

☹ Failing to answer the phone properly and professionally
☹ Not knowing how to ask great questions
☹ Poor listening skills
☹ Not having a simple structure in place for the sales conversation
☹ Lots of activity but of the wrong sort
☹ Failing to ask for the deal
☹ Giving up too easily with price objections
☹ Lack of confidence especially with new team members
☹ Reluctance to pick up the phone
