Every business owner needs reminding occasionally…

You didn’t start your business to spend your life doing admin.

You started it because you had an idea.

A skill.
A passion.
A product.
A service.
A desire to do things differently.

And I’m sure you also imagined having a bit more freedom too.

But somewhere between getting the clients, doing the work, sending the invoices, sorting the emails, keeping the books, updating the spreadsheets, posting on social media and dealing with all the other stuff…

…it’s very easy to lose sight of why you started in the first place.

That’s why I love what I do.

I can take some of those boring, fiddly, time-consuming or downright headache-inducing jobs off your hands.

And I’m not precious about what that looks like.

It’s always lovely when a client tells you that you’re making a difference 💜

I’ve had some really lovely feedback from Gwyneth at Thoroughclean recently, and I wanted to share a few of her comments because they really sum up what Business Deva is all about.

💬 “Love having Julie on board. I feel like I have another pair of hands helping me.”

💬 “Julie has done so much for Thoroughclean. Very lovely and professional.”

That last one makes me especially happy because it’s not just about getting jobs done, it’s about helping a business to grow too.

I genuinely care about the businesses I work with.

I don’t just want to come in, complete a task and send an invoice.

I want to understand the business.
What’s working.
What isn’t.
What’s taking up too much of your time.
What’s been sitting on your to-do list for the last six months.

And, importantly, where you actually need help.

Sometimes that might be a bigger piece of business strategy.

Or it could just be
“Julie, can you just sort this spreadsheet out because I cannot look at it for another minute?”

And that’s fine too.

I’ve always been someone who is happy to help.

If I can answer a question, I will.

If I know someone who can help, I’ll point you in the right direction.

If I can take something off your plate, I’ll roll up my sleeves and get stuck in.

Because I know that running a business can sometimes feel like you’re carrying everything on your own.

And you shouldn’t have to.

A recent client told me that working with me had “changed their life.” That honestly meant so much to me.

Not because I think I’m some sort of business superhero…

…but because it told me that the support I was giving them was making a real difference to their day-to-day life.

And that’s the bit I love. 💜

A reminder for business owners who feel like they’re constantly chasing their own tail…

You don’t have to do everything yourself.

I know that’s easier said than done.

Sometimes it feels quicker just to do the job yourself or to think, “I’ll get around to it later.”

And when you’ve been doing something for so long, you don’t even stop to question whether there’s a better way.

That’s where I come in.

Give me the spreadsheet or the admin you’ve been putting off.

The process that makes you want to pull your hair out.

The job that takes you hours because you only do it once in a blue moon.

The thing you know needs doing but just keeps slipping further down the list.

I actually enjoy that stuff!

And because I’ve spent years looking at businesses, processes and operations, I’ll often spot ways of making something quicker, simpler or more efficient.

Which means you get to hand over the headache…

…and get your time back.

Why did you set up your business?

I set up Business Deva because over the years I’ve seen so many business owners become completely bogged down by the bits of running a business that they don’t enjoy, don’t feel confident doing, or simply don’t have enough hours in the day to tackle.

And I get it.

You start a business because you have something you’re good at. Something you’re passionate about. Something you want to build.

But then suddenly you’re also expected to be good at spreadsheets, systems, processes, marketing, admin, organising, keeping track of everything and about 47 other things you never actually signed up for. 🤦‍♀️

I’ve seen friends, family and clients struggle with exactly this.

And I kept thinking… “I could help with that.”

So that’s really where Business Deva came from.

I love getting stuck into the jobs that other people put off.

I genuinely LOVE a spreadsheet and even use them in my personal life 😂

I love finding a quicker, easier or more organised way of doing something.

And if I can take a job that would take you three hours, get it done in one hour and give you three hours back to spend on something you actually enjoy?

That’s a win in my book.

Business Deva is about being that extra pair of hands when you need them.

3 new clients. 2 more in the pipeline. And I only spend 3 hours a month on her social media.

I’ve been working with a lovely client for the last 3 months, helping her stay consistent and visible on social media.

My role is pretty simple:

I create and post content on her business page
I push her business in local community groups
I keep her visible consistently
And I take social media off her to-do list

And the results?

3 new clients secured, another 2 already in the pipeline, and a new enquiry just come in.

But it’s not just about the numbers.

She can spend her time doing what she does best - looking after her clients and delivering a brilliant service - rather than spending her evenings trying to think of something to post.

Plus, she now gets to spend all of her spare time with her family. 🥰

She’s happy because her business is bringing in new clients without social media taking over her life.

I’m happy because I know I’m helping her grow her business, and that’s what I love. 💜

A bit about the person behind Business Deva…

You probably know what I do.
But how well do you know me?

I thought I’d share a few things you might not know about the woman behind the laptop (and the dog! 🐶).

So, here goes…

I’m a bit of a chatterbox.
If we meet for coffee, don't expect a five-minute catch-up. I love a good natter, getting to know people and hearing their stories.

✨ I LOVE anything sparkly.
Give me something covered in glitter, sparkle or a little bit of bling and I’m happy. There’s absolutely no such thing as too much sparkle in my book!

I love organising.
Lists, plans, spreadsheets, getting things in order… honestly, I love it. I may also be slightly guilty of being a bit of a control freak. 😂

I have serious FOMO.
My social calendar is usually pretty full because I hate the thought of missing out on something fun. If there’s a gathering, event, dinner or excuse for a catch-up, I’m probably there!

💜 I love supporting local businesses and charities.
I genuinely believe in supporting the people and organisations around us, whether that's buying from a local business, recommending someone, sharing their posts or getting involved in a local cause.

And then there’s this little guy in the photo, who is basically my unofficial Business Deva assistant… although his main contribution is usually demanding attention while I’m trying to work. 🐶

This is just a little glimpse into the person behind Business Deva.

Because yes, I’m here to help businesses grow, get organised, become more visible and take some of the stuff off their plate…

…but I also think people buy from people.

So I'm going to start sharing a few more little snippets about me, Business Deva and the person behind it all.
