Where do you want your business to be in the next 6–12 months?

It’s a simple question, but it’s one of the most useful places to start when you’re thinking about getting some extra support.

Because good support shouldn’t just be about ticking jobs off a list.

It should help you move towards the outcomes you actually want for the business.

That might mean putting better admin processes in place.

Creating a more consistent approach to marketing.

Improving follow-ups and business development.

Freeing up more time for higher-value work.

Or building support that can adapt as the business grows.

At The Wilkinson VA, we like to understand where you are now, where you want to get to, and what’s getting in the way.

From there, we can work out what kind of support would make the biggest difference.

Sometimes that’s admin.
Sometimes it’s marketing.
Sometimes it’s a bit of both.

The important thing is that the support fits the business, not the other way around.

So, where would you like your business to be this time next year?

What’s quietly eating your week?

It’s often not one big job.

It’s all the little things…

Replying to emails.
Updating spreadsheets.
Booking appointments.
Chasing information.
Formatting documents.
Scheduling social posts.
Tweaking Canva graphics.
Sorting out the job that’s already been moved to tomorrow twice. 🙈

None of them feels huge on its own.

But put them together and suddenly a good chunk of your day has disappeared.

That’s often where having a bit of extra support makes the biggest difference.

We help small business owners with admin, marketing and all those general “can you just…?” jobs that keep interrupting everything else.

You don’t have to hand over everything either.

Sometimes getting just a few of those recurring jobs off your plate is enough to make the whole week feel more manageable.

So, if you could hand over ONE task from your working week right now, what would it be?

Have you ever spent longer looking for a document than actually using it?

We've all been there!

It's funny how the smallest things can end up taking the most time.

One organised folder.

One clear naming system.

One simple checklist.

They don't seem like much until they're saving you time every single day.

I'd love to know…

What's one small change you've made in your business that's made life noticeably easier?

If someone asked you...

"What does a Virtual Assistant actually do?"

What would you say?

It's funny because most people answer with things like:

📅 Diary management

📧 Emails

📱 Social media

And while those things are definitely part of the job...

They're only part of the story.

We've been working on something that answers this question properly, and it's made me realise just how many different ways a VA can support a small business.

Do you know what usually wastes the most time in a business? It's rarely the big projects, it's the little things:

Trying to find a document.
Wondering if you've replied to that enquiry.
Searching your inbox for that email.
Trying to remember where you saved something.

On their own, they're only small jobs. But when they happen day after day, they quietly steal hours from your week.

One thing I've been reminded of recently is that running a business doesn't have to feel chaotic and often it's the smallest systems that make the biggest difference.

✨ One organised folder.
✨ One simple checklist.
✨ One process that means you don't have to remember everything.

Small improvements. Less stress. More headspace. I'd love to know...

One thing really stood out from some training we attended this week on the latest UK data legislation changes.

The businesses that adapt most easily aren't always the biggest, they're usually the ones with good systems already in place.

▶ Knowing where customer information is stored.

▶ Keeping records organised.

▶ Having clear processes that everyone understands.

Those simple things don't just help when legislation changes. They also make day-to-day business feel less stressful and much easier to manage. It's a good reminder that getting organised isn't just about saving time. It's about making your business more resilient too.

Over the next few weeks we'll be sharing some practical tips that any small business can use to become a little more organised, without making things complicated.

If there's one area of your business you'd like to get more organised, what would it be?
