Productive week - Around 300tons of silt and debris excavated from a very old lake that had become stagnant, devoid of life and with silt levels above the water table. This is just the start of the project to rejuvenate this old lake. Old water features like this have a fragile balance, between being biodiverse and encouraging for wildlife to thrive, or being overwhelmed by vigorous plant growth and pond weeds that kill oxygen in the water and no longer provide a good habitat for wildlife or birdlife.

New Secret Driveway”
Old reinforced concrete garage bases broken out removed and loaded into 2x 16ton skips. Tree roots dug out and old septic tank collapsed. French drainage and an electric supply cable buried. Then a road route graded and levelled. Green porous pavers or grids installed and filled with topsoil. Grass seed will be planted and a little more soil, to make the driveway disappear into the lawns.
All easy work for the Dare To Dig team of JCB 3cx and Caterpillar Mini-digger.

Drive/parking-area preparation. Ground cleared of tree roots and concrete. Soil reduced, following the natural fall of the ground. Terram membrane with 160mm Type 1 aggregate put down and compacted. Customer putting drive gravel grids down to retain a decorative layer of aggregate.

Driveway prepared for gravel grid system.
Turf and soil removed. Geotex membrane and type one aggregate in place, compacted and levelled to accommodate gravel grid system.
