A questionnaire followed by an in-depth tele

A questionnaire followed by an in-depth telephone or face-to-face consultation (dependant on location) to discuss the issues concerned. Seminar

1.5 hour presentation and discussion on sleep from birth to 6 years, possible problems and their solutions, the importance of sleep and much more.

Scandi countries get so much right! Though I wonder if the grandparent parental leave could be tough on parents who have lost their parents or don’t have present and helpful parents. But the message is clear - raising a child is hard but can be so much easier with helpful people around. The baby box has been around for a long time but I bet it’s extra helpful in these high cost times.

Dr Winnicott first said way back in 1953 that being ‘good enough’ and striving to be a perfect parent was actually not helpful for parent or child (phew!!). Then Crittenden et al in 2014 took this further and said that if a care giver is ‘good enough’ 20% of the time then that’s a good parent! Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to be the perfect parent, we are all human and all make mistakes, just strive to be good enough and on days when you aren’t, remember, tomorrow is another day.
