Starting 2026 by the Thames in Chiswick 🌊☀️

What a way to kick off the year! We began Monday with an inspiring meeting in Hammersmith with the Labour MP for Hammersmith & Chiswick, talking about how we can reach more people who need support — and champion the amazing work our Angels do locally. 🙌

Afterwards, we headed to Chiswick, soaking up the winter sunshine by the river (despite the freezing temperatures!). A quick coffee from the fantastic local coffee truck Dear Coco Coffee turned into an unexpected highlight when we met a talented local photographer. He captured this amazing shot of us mid-conversation, planning our second meeting of the day with the Angels.

Fortunately, we moved inside for this meeting. When we’re not working remotely, you’ll often find us in ‘the turret’ at the Bulls Head, our unofficial office and one of our favourite local spots. 🍻 🍽️

✨ After the decorations come down ✨

Christmas has been and gone. Families have gathered, shared meals, swapped stories, and spent time together.

And for many, that time brought moments of closeness — but also moments of noticing.

Perhaps you saw that:
▪️ The house felt a little colder than you remembered
▪️ The fridge wasn’t as full as it should be
▪️ Everyday tasks took more effort
▪️ Stairs looked harder to manage
▪️ Or loved ones mentioned how quiet things feel now everyone has gone home

Once the celebrations end, the contrast can feel sharper. The house is quieter. Routines change. Loneliness can creep in.

Noticing these things doesn’t mean something is “wrong”. Often, it simply means a little extra support could make a big difference.

At A Good Life, we support people to live well in their own homes — especially in those in-between moments, after the festivities fade. That might mean:
✨ A friendly visit and conversation during the quieter weeks
✨ Help with meals, shopping or light housework
✨ Support rebuilding routines after Christmas
✨ Reassurance, companionship and practical help where needed

It’s rarely about taking over. It’s about gently stepping in, at the right time, in the right way.

As we step into a new year, we’re reminded why we do what we do. At A Good Life, our mission is simple yet ambitious: to transform home care for the elderly by putting humanity at the heart of everything.

We believe care should be holistic, relational, and deeply personal. That means working together – with families, GPs, health professionals, community groups and our incredible Angels – to build circles of support that keep people where they feel most comfortable: at home.

✨ Christmas brings families together ✨

Over the festive season, many of us spend a little more time with older parents, grandparents, neighbours or relatives. We sit at the kitchen table, share stories, notice the little things.

▪️Perhaps the house feels colder than usual.
▪️Meals aren’t quite as regular.
▪️The washing up has started to pile up.
▪️Getting up the stairs seems harder.
▪️Or they mention they’ll be lonely once the celebrations are over

These moments can be worrying — but they’re also a chance to pause, notice, and gently support.

At A Good Life, we help people remain comfortable, independent and safe in their own homes. That might look like:

✨ Help with light housework or laundry
✨ Support preparing meals and enjoying food again
✨ A friendly face for company and conversation
✨ Assistance with shopping or appointments
