From the age of 30, we lose a small percentage of our muscle power every year, which over time, can accumulate and seriously affect our ability to move, balance and ultimately stay independent. 🩷

Even though you may be of an age whereby you think "movement" or "exercise" cannot help you, its never too late! πŸ’›

Movement or exercise, when specific and targeted, can make a real difference to the quality of your life.

It does NOT have to be vigorous or complicated. Nor do you require a leotard πŸ˜„

There are many simple exercises that can be done in your own home that are positively impact your independence levels and balance. Many of these can be adapted to suit your personal needs and circumstances. ✨

If you are already experiencing balance issues, falls or health problems, it's always good to seek the advice of a local health professional such as your Doctor or a Physiotherapist.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning everyone! 🌞

I hope you are keeping nice and warm. πŸͺ·

Here is a list of services I can provide, although its not exhaustive!

If you are or you know someone who is in need of that little extra care and support or simply would love a cuppa and a chat as they find life a little more difficult to navigate than usual, then maybe I can help! πŸ’›

If the list below doesn't include what you are looking for, then maybe get in touch and we can have a chat about what your needs are. πŸ™‚

Many thanks

It's very easy to forget everything our Elders have gone through in their lives. It's also very easy to ignore the fact that many of us are not that far behind them in years! The extremely fast pace of life seems to be hurtling us through the years and before we know it, we will be the ones in our own 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond. πŸ’›

Modern life has somewhat sidelined our elders together with the ageing process, labeling it as something bad, but maybe we have an opportunity to reverse that perspective?

Wouldn't it be amazing if our perspective of the ageing process and our elders returned to one of respect and reverence. ✨

Hope you are having a lovely day. 🌟

A few years ago, I completed my Shamanic Practitioner training and part of what I learned, was that many, many years ago, certain cultures honoured the older generations and they were called the Elders.

When you think about it, people in Later Life have experienced SO so much in the way of challenges!

Wouldn't it be lovely if our own Society could get back to valuing and respecting, but also looking after and supporting our Elders!

Perhaps we could go about making a positive change here on this page!

Please share your thought son this below.

Have a great day everyone.

Mobility problems such as loss of balance and falling, aren't necessarily always due to anything being seriously wrong with someone. It can often simply be due to an accumulation of many months or years of being very inactive. πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

We don't always notice how our bodies are changing as we age.

We might not notice our muscles getting weaker or our joints becoming stiffer until we experience some level of pain or discomfort or we are struggling to get out of our chair!

It is vital that we become more aware of both HOW we move and how OFTEN we move!

One strategy to improving your posture, strength and balance is to STAND UP from your chair more frequently!

If you spend lots of time sitting down, then you can set yourself a timer so that you can STAND UP but STAND STRAIGHT also, every 30 minutes if possible!

Please note, if you are already experiencing mobility problems or you have received advice from a Health professional, then please continue to follow that advice>

This post is for general guidance only!

Have a great day everyone! πŸ™‚

Hello everyone! 🌷

Thank you for taking a look at my new service! 🌞

Having spent many years working with people in their more Senior Life years both as a Physiotherapist and Carer ( both professionally & personally), I am really excited to offer my new service.

This is a service to help provide the more occasional assistance services that can make a difference to people's lives. These can include...

- A chat over a cuppa
- Tidying up or light cleaning duties
- Changing the bed or sorting the laundry out
- Posting a letter
- Providing encouragement & support with therapy exercises
- Small shopping trips
- Washing up

This list is not exhaustive, but I do not offer services such as providing meals, washing and dressing or getting in and out of bed.

I can cover areas such as Cleckheaton, Scholes, Wyke, Robberttown, Hightown, Littletown, Birkenshaw, Gomersal or Clifton (Brighouse). Other areas will be considered on request.

My aim is to help Women over 60 maintain as much independence in their lives as possible with dignity and respect.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

Thank you.
