One thing that comes up again and again in feedback is how much people value understanding what’s actually going on.

Pain, stiffness and injuries can feel frustrating enough without being left confused about them.

My goal isn’t just to help you feel better on the day, it’s to help you understand what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what you can do about it moving forwards.

Knowledge creates confidence. Confidence creates consistency. Consistency is where lasting change happens👊🏼🚀

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to leave feedback. I appreciate it so much🤍

✨ HAPPY HUMP DAY ✨

Midweek check-in…

How have you actually been looking after your body this week?

Not just treatments but the small things that make the biggest difference over time👇🏼

💧Hydration
🚶🏼‍♀️Daily movement
🏋🏼‍♀️ Strength work
😴 Sleep & recovery
📈 Consistency with habits

It’s easy to focus on pain when something flares up, but long-term progress usually comes from the things we do consistently in the background NOT quick fixes.

Check-ins and holding yourself accountable can be really helpful for building awareness around your routines and habits👏🏼

So what do you need to improve on before the week ends?👀⏳

A brilliant visual for anyone wishing to understand the complexity of fascia.

I continuously talk to my clients about its importance & role in every single movement whether that be human, horse or hound.

Absolutely fascinating stuff🤓✍🏼📚

Following on from my last post about people needing a clear plan…

What does that actually look like?👀

Because it’s usually not what people think.

A good plan doesn’t need to be complicated, but it does need to be clear👇🏼

✅ Knowing what actually needs focus (not just where it hurts)
✅ Having a small number of the right exercises
✅ Doing them consistently (this is where most people struggle)
✅ Progressing things over time, not just repeating the same thing forever
✅ Knowing what to avoid while things are settling

What I often see instead:
❌ Random exercises with no structure
👎🏼 Inconsistent effort depending on symptoms
📉 No clear direction or progression

And that’s usually why things don’t fully improve long term.

When things are simple, structured, and consistent, the body responds very differently.

Less guesswork, more clarity and direction.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re just “guessing” what your body needs…you’re definitely not alone.

Over the last few months I began working with a client diagnosed with Eosinophilic fasciitis, a rare condition affecting the fascia.

Conditions like this can lead to significant stiffness, reduced mobility, and discomfort, often impacting day to day life more than people realise.

From a clinical perspective, research suggests that maintaining movement and function is key in managing many chronic musculoskeletal and connective tissue conditions. Gentle, progressive exercise has been shown to help preserve mobility and improve physical function, while manual therapy combined with Deep Oscillation Therapy can support tissue health and symptom management.

That said, there’s no “one size fits all” approach - it always comes down to the individual in front of you.

What really stood out to me with this client wasn’t just the physical changes, but the difference in confidence, movement, and overall quality of life.

It’s experiences like this that have really shaped how I work. Less focus on quick fixes, and more on:
✍🏼Understanding the root of the issue
🫱🏻‍🫲🏼Supporting long-term movement
💪🏼 Helping people feel more in control of their bodies again

You’ll probably see me sharing more of this side of my work going forward💚

Struggling with back pain?🤕👇🏼

Stretching can feel good temporarily… but it rarely addresses the root cause.

Most recurring low back pain is linked to:
🍑 Weak gluteal muscles - reduced pelvic stability
🙅🏼‍♀️ Poor core activation - spinal support becomes compromised
📉 Faulty movement patterns - repetitive strain builds up

That’s why pain keeps coming back.

I help people combine hands-on therapy with simple, targeted exercises to retrain muscles and movement, not just stretch them.

Most of the images I share here feature our four-legged friends instead of my human clients, but at the core of my work, it’s always been about optimising movement and improving musculoskeletal health for both.

Interestingly, the underlying principles are remarkably consistent across species. Whether we’re assessing a horse, a dog, or a human, efficient movement relies on several key factors:

💪 Muscle strength
🦿 Joint mechanics and mobility
🤸‍♀️ Neuromuscular coordination
🏋️‍♀️ Load distribution through the musculoskeletal system

Research in human biomechanics demonstrates that inadequate strength in the hip and pelvic stabilisers can alter lower-limb kinematics and affect how forces are transmitted through the body. Hip and pelvic stability is essential for controlling movement during everyday activities such as walking, running, and transitioning from sitting to standing. When these muscles are underperforming, compensatory movement patterns often develop, which can contribute to pain or dysfunction in other regions - a pattern I regularly find with my clients.

This explains why treating only the site of pain may provide temporary relief but often fails to resolve the underlying issue long-term.

A more effective approach involves:

📝 Comprehensive movement assessment: understanding how the entire body functions during motion
🕵️‍♀️ Identifying contributing factors: addressing the root cause rather than just the symptoms
🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 Rehabilitative support: restoring optimal movement patterns through targeted interventions

This holistic perspective is what I am most passionate about - helping people (and owners 🦄🐾) understand the complex, multifactorial nature of movement and how to regain comfort and improve function.

Knowledge is essential but true insight, understanding and application are where real changes begins 🔐✨
