This canvas had a hard life, with trauma to the canvas resulting in a hole, small rip with missing colour. It was exciting to work on the painting for a lovely client, restoring a very sentimental family heirloom to its original condition

This watercolour posed a real challenge, the mould on the paper had resulted in a whole underneath it in the cotton based paper. Removing the surface mould and treating the paper allowed this lovely watercolour to be enjoyed again

Hi, my name is Simon. I am new to Rowhedge, Colchester. We offer a full Painting Cleaning and Restoration service with 40 years experience.

Previous clients include Museum, Government, Art Dealers and Private Collectors.

Oil Paintings: Removal of Discoloured Varnish, consolidation of paint and missing colour, repair of holes and rips and other trauma to the canvas.

Watercolour and Charcoal: Removal of staining and foxing from the paper.

For the past 10 years I have worked alongside my daughter Harriet who is also an artist, and has an exceptional eye for colour matching when replacing missing colour on paintings.
