OMG why have we created such a noisy world?! It can be overwhelming and pretty demanding at times - so, I think an understanding of leverage and how to use it actually a no-brainer?

Leverage should allow you to create income streams that work for you, that deliver long-term security while freeing up time to focus on what truly matters. In his book ''Life Leverage'', Rob Moore talks about how important it is to outsource lower-value tasks and focus on high-impact activities that align with goals and passions. By leveraging resources such as people, technology, and systems, we can can certainly achieve more in less time and create a lifestyle that offers both financial freedom and personal fulfilment.

We can also use leverage in our businesses by building referral partnerships, creating strategic alliances, and aligning with opportunities that generate residual income. Leveraging means that your growth won’t depend solely on your personal time and effort; it allows you to scale your impact and results more effectively. I guess that some might see this as relinquishing control and that might be scary?!

Networking or Not Working? What does networking really mean to you?

Is it just about attending events, collecting business cards (or LinkedIn connections), and exchanging polite small talk? Or is it something deeper?

True networking is less about gathering contacts and more about building connections. It’s when two people perhaps say, “Let’s work together in a way that benefits us both'' or they make specific efforts to keep engaging, keep following up, keep meeting regularly knowing that it is this and time that will develop an energetic and meaningful relationship.

In a world where technology makes it easier than ever to connect, as we enter 2025, it is a great time to pause and think about the genuine relationships we have or the ones we are developing —ones built on trust, mutual support, and a shared vision for growth.

A fab start could be to shift from simply meeting a person to truly helping another? Imagine the ripple effect if connections we make in 2025 are very often purposeful and transformative.

How do you Expand Your Reach? Is it by developing your business relationships and alliances? And in what way do you do that? What is your strategy?

As sport is my thing - here are some sporting ideas!

Partnerships can really open doors to new markets. For example, think of sports teams partnering with global brands. When a soccer club collaborates with a sponsor like Nike, it gains access to worldwide fans through marketing campaigns and distribution channels—extending its reach far beyond local supporters. Examples of businesses collaboratiing with sports teams and clubs can very much be seen at a local level too. And small brands in niche sports might also collaborate with tech companies, fitness influencers, or local businesses to amplify their reach and credibility.

A great example of a lesser-known sports brand partnering with another business is On Running collaborating with Roger Federer to expand its presence in the global sports and lifestyle market. While On Running was already making waves as an innovative running shoe brand, it was relatively niche compared to giants like Nike or Adidas. Where do you find a friendly welcome? Give someone a 'shout out'!

Yesterday, I enjoyed a really friendly welcome to FORE Business online networking. It was a busy hour with around 40 business represented. Already I have 3 x one to one meetings organised, with a few more in the pipeline! It's good to find synergies and make a really positive start to building relationships in a new network.

Yesterday, I also had a lovely catch up with Rowena Pearce where we found more synergies and ways that we can help each other and with Steffi Lewis YourPCM. On Monday it was a chat with Tracy Weekes that shone out - not about business at all, but a chat you can only have with someone you're getting to know much better. Feeling happy to know you fab ladies! As lovely as it is meeting new people, it's so important to build and develop the relationships we already have. And my monthly meeting with the on Tuesday was all about just that - building and growing, one connection at a time!

As I'm talking about relationships and welcoming - quick shout out here to Niall Jones of Peer Space (welcoming events for community bonding) and to , and - I've particularly enjoyed the lovely warmth in the welcomes you get here too. ❤️

So happy to achieve my first golfing goal!

Last week the seven weeks were up and it was time to get myself around the 18 hole course at The Leicestershire Golf Club at my first outing with . Although I'd followed the process of having lessons, going to the range and going round some 9 hole courses it was nevertheless, I realised somewhat belatedly, quite a tall order!

Nevertheless, despite the challenges of the course AND my erratic golf - the day dawned and was an incredibly balmy November day and the course was stunning in the sunshine. Wow - I was so lucky to be able to network and play golf concurrently in such wonderful surroundings! My thanks go to many from FORE Business Leicester for the warmth of their welcome and to the consistent encouragement (and patience!) from Jonathan Carlisle, William Kendrick and Samuel Harris, one of whom were always at my side and ready to offer some help or point out where my ball had disappeared to!

My next goal! Still pondering that - perhaps take 10 off my tally over the next month. Seems ambitious, but at the same time absolutely necessary!😂
