Some Tuesday mornings, the highlight of the networking meeting is;

➡️ receving a business referral

Always good to receive positive feedback especially when it's a tricky case.

This client purchased his property under the 'Right to Buy' scheme which means there can often be restrictions, when looking to capital raise in the first few years.

As his fixed deal was ending, he wanted to remortgage and borrow additional funds for a new kitchen and flooring throughout. I was able to get the mortgage approved very quickly, however completion took a little longer due to local authority being involved.

Huge shoutout to Nationwide Building Society 👏

One of my clients was due to complete on their purchase when, tragically, their mother — who was gifting the deposit — sadly passed away.

With probate delays and the emotional impact of the situation, the mortgage offer expired before completion could take place.

A few months later, we submitted a new application, but by then interest rates had increased significantly.

After speaking with the Business Development Manager and explaining the circumstances, an exception was approved to honour the client’s previous rate. 🙌

A genuinely compassionate outcome during an incredibly difficult time, and a reminder that people can still make a real difference in this industry.

Thats why on Monday 18th May Halifax are launching a £5,000 deposit mortgage for First Time Buyers. Too many aspirational buyers are doing the right things but remain locked out, because traditional deposit expectations no longer reflect how people live, rent and work today.
