Only a week to go until EAGE Annual kicks off in Toulouse. I'm delighted to not only be involved in putting together the exhibition floor dedicated theatres on and , but to be presenting a little too! One of the focuses that we have is to raise the importance of geology in everyday life, particularly to young people, so on the morning of 5th June we will be presenting to students and others the importance of geology, and in particular . I'm so excited about the special session at the EAGE Annual on the European Geological Data Infrastructure - Europe's Digital Twin. On Day three, the Digital Transformation Area and the Energy Transition Area will combine to look at overlapping areas of interest, for which is a perfect example of how Digital Transformation is vital to the Energy Transition. Find out how Geological Survey Organisations from across Europe are working together to provide free, harmonised digital data for the whole of Europe, including information on critical minerals as well as energy. I'm delighted to be involved with the Digital Transformation Area AND the Energy Transition Area at this year's EAGE Annual in Toulouse. It's been a real pleasure to work with the committee members involved in putting together some amazing programmes over the three days, including a special combined session for the two theatres on day three. The GSEU team will be meeting with European Commission officials this week to share our latest achievements, including one of our most significant milestones: the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda ( ) 📚. This comprehensive document outlines GSEU's approaches and plans across various geological sectors.

Key themes include energy transition and decarbonisation🌱, responsible use of raw materials for Europe🛠️, sustainable groundwater management🌊, mitigating environmental risks and geohazards🌋, and understanding the subsurface through geological mapping and modelling🗺️.
