🚨 A major step forward in software security

Project Glasswing is a new initiative uniting Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorganChase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Palo Alto Networks to help secure some of the world’s most critical software. 🔐

The initiative was formed in response to capabilities observed in a new Anthropic frontier model, Claude Mythos Preview. While still unreleased, it highlights a significant shift in cybersecurity: AI models are now reaching a level of coding capability where they can outperform nearly all but the most skilled human experts in identifying and exploiting software vulnerabilities.

This is a clear signal that the future of cybersecurity is changing fast, and industry collaboration will be essential to stay ahead. 🌍

🚀 GraphQL Full Stack Engineer (Contract | Outside IR35)

We’re hiring a GraphQL Full Stack Engineer to design and build modern GraphQL APIs in a TypeScript / Node.js environment. You’ll be hands-on with schema design, supergraph/subgraph patterns, cloud-native deployment, and production-grade observability.

✅ What you’ll be doing
⬡ Design and evolve GraphQL API services from schema design onwards
⬡ supergraph/subgraph design - improve flexibility, performance, reusability
⬡ Build scalable services using TypeScript and Node.js
⬡ Deliver using modern DevOps practices: CI/CD, Docker, Helm, K8S, YAML
⬡ Improve reliability with observability and telemetry tooling

🔧 Required skills (GraphQL specialists)
⬡ Strong hands-on GraphQL: schema design, resolvers, API evolution
⬡ Performance optimisation
⬡ Proven TypeScript / Node.js backend development
⬡ Testing experience: Vitest + Playwright (or equivalent)
⬡ Cloud-native experience: Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, YAML
⬡ Observability: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog (or similar)
⬡ Comfortable working in Agile teams with strong engineering standards.

Location: West London (Hybrid 1–2 days onsite)
Duration: 6 months initial (extensions likely)

📈 UK retail sales started 2026 with a stronger than expected lift.

ONS data shows retail sales volumes rose 1.8% in January 2026, up from 0.4% in December 2025. That is the biggest monthly increase since May 2024.

A few standouts 👇

🛢️ Automotive fuel and non food retailers led the growth
🖼️ Strong contributions from artwork and antiques plus online jewellers
🛋️ Household goods improved with retailers pointing to Jan furniture sales

The bigger picture is still mixed. Over the three months to January 2026, volumes were up 0.1% compared with the previous three month period. And compared with February 2020, volumes were flat overall.

🛍️ For retail leaders, it feels like a reminder that demand is there, but it is landing in very specific pockets, often where price, promotion, or online convenience gives shoppers a clear reason to buy.
