NNA TRIALS ! 🙌

This weekend we had our foundation and pre-entry NNA trials. All the teams did absolutely amazing. Very proud of everyone!!

On Saturday we had a fun gundog training workshop in the wilds of Fife!

3 hours spent in great company, having laughs, enjoying watching dogs work and enjoying our community!

This is what it’s about for me! We’re providing dogs with fulfilment and owners with a place to belong.

Our gundog classes and workshops are not about competing or trialling or even the perfect retrieve. Instead we’re tapping into our dogs instincts and letting them enjoy having that job to do!

🐾 PUPPY MECHANICS WORKSHOP 🐾

Suitable for puppies and young dogs up to 2 years old

Got a new puppy? Had your puppy a while and feel like you could do with a bit of a reset? Or maybe weekly puppy classes just don’t fit into your life?

Our Puppy Mechanics Workshop is all about the practical stuff that actually helps you and your dog navigate day-to-day life together.

We’ll be covering:

🐾 Play and how to use it in your training
🐾 Building engagement and your relationship
🐾 Loose lead walking
🐾 Recall
🐾 Settling and switching off
🐾 Working around real-world distractions
🐾 Building useful skills that you can actually take out into everyday life
🐾 And plenty more along the way!

This isn’t about creating the “perfect puppy”. It’s about giving you a better understanding of the dog in front of you, building good foundations and giving you practical tools you can continue using at home.

And because training doesn’t stop when the workshop finishes, everyone attending will also receive a discount on our online membership, where you can access our growing library of training videos and submit your own training videos for feedback and ongoing support.

£55 for three hours of practical training, information and support.

Did you know we have an online training membership? 👀

I’m not actually sure we talk about this enough, especially considering how much stuff is now sitting inside it!

For £25 a month, you get access to a growing library of training content covering scentwork, life skills, gundog training, puppy raising, troubleshooting and plenty of raw, unedited training sessions with our own dogs too. Because sometimes seeing the bits that don’t go perfectly is just as useful as seeing the finished product!

There are currently 56 video tutorials in the membership, with new content being added all the time.

But probably one of the biggest parts of the membership is the feedback. You can submit as many training videos as you like for us to have a look at and help you troubleshoot. And if you have multiple dogs, you DON’T need multiple memberships. Your £25 covers you and all of your dogs.

You’ll also get free access to our ebooks, plus discounts on selected workshops and other training.

It’s a really nice addition if you already come to classes and want a bit more support between sessions, but it’s also a great option if you can’t currently make regular in-person training and still want somewhere to learn, ask questions and get feedback.

There’s no long-term commitment either. You can cancel whenever you like and come back whenever it suits you.

Sometimes taking a break is the best thing you can do 💭

We put so much pressure on ourselves, especially as trainers, to prove ourselves - to compete, to win, to get the medals and the rosettes, but sometimes it’s fine to take a break

Life’s been throwing some curveballs so I’ve made the decision to take a break from competing recently. Not because my dogs aren’t capable - I’m sure they’d still do amazing. But because I don’t think it’s fair to expect anything from them when I can’t also give 100%!

My dogs have done more for me in their lives than I had ever dreamed of 🫶. Their trophy room is their proof! They don’t need to prove anything else…

Now this doesn’t mean we aren’t training - we absolutely are. But we are also using the opportunity to just enjoy life, to go on day trips, to go into the hills, to learn tricks, build foundations and have fun!

We say it time and time again to our clients if they are having a blip - if it stops being fun - stop competing and work on building that relationship and enjoyment - the rest just falls into place as they are all so talented 🫶

Use your time in life to do what makes you happy, what makes your dogs happy, never feel like you have to do anything for someone else and remove expectations. I promise, you’ll remember them memories over a medal or rosette any day 🥰 (and bonus, the more of this you do, the more likely your dogs are to perform when you want them to 🤭)
