Business Idea : 1

Sitting in front of my office computer, I was thinking what would happen if I am fired from the company the very same day. Half of my monthly salary goes to the treasury of banks in the name of EMI. With the rest, I need to pay for rent, electricity, food, RD, insurance, mobile bill, internet(almost 2% ah?!) & etc. I can not stop the payments for any of these. I need to earn money to pay for all of them as well as save some liquid cash for any emergency.

Starting a business and to see +ve results after 6 or 7 months is not an option considering the monthly commitments. So I need to start something in a week or two and earn at least the money equivalent to my monthly commitments which is an whooping 50,000 Rupees. Certainly, my first try was the God of Software guys - Google. A search for "Earn 50000 a month" returned 23,600,000 results. Many shown the proof of their earnings with the photos of cheques, but none of them shown me the way to earn it.

Having worked with lots of people, I always used to say "Under pressure anyone would perform, else he/she under-perform at work". So under pressure, what I am going to do? From where, I am going to get the magical idea of earning 50,000 rupees a month with little investment? Even after spending almost half a day, I didn't get any idea. Finally, I decided to reach the current position from the destination.

Monthly target = Rs. 50,000
Daily target = Rs.2,000 (Considering that u work only for 6 days a week)

From where I can earn Rs.2,000 daily. Share market? Never. I don't want to burn my fingers again by entering into an uncertain thing. Though lots of people do that (either earn money or burn fingers). What next? For achieving a daily target of Rs.2,000, I need to sell something. What to sell? How much I have to sell? How much I may have to work everyday to achieve this target? Only question marks remained in my mind.

"God is present everywhere". So do ideas for business. For me, it was present in front of me on a plate and it's called "Chicken Briyani". Interestingly, I need to work for just 4 hours a day. Not able to believe? Here is how it can be.

Profit per Briyani = Rs. 20
Daily sales needed = 100 Nos
Daily target = Rs.2,000
Monthly target = Rs. 50,000

Time to prepare: 2 hours
Time to sell :2 hours
Total Effort: 4-5 hours/day

Chicken(20kg) - 1600
Rice(10kg) - 400
Onion(5kg) - 100
Tomato(3kg) - 60
Yogurt(10cups)- 100
Masala items - 200
Oil - 70
Gas - 200
Transport - 100
Labour - 150
Space - 100
Water - 20
Egg - 300
Plain Gravy - 200
Packing - 100
Other - 300

Rs.4000 for making 100 plates of Briyani

At road side shops, one plate of briyani cost you at least Rs.60. If it is sold at the same rate, we can make a profit of Rs.20 per plate and out target is achieved in just 4-5 hours a day. Just sit in the counter and keep collecting cash. Cool job. Rest of the time, you are totally free to do anything.

Points to be noted:
If you go and say your relatives that you are quitting IT job and selling Briyanis, even though you the potential to earn more than your current salary and lead a peaceful life, the reaction would be "Oh my God! Are you mad????? Ever thought of your marriage??? It is going to be very difficult to find a bride for you. Bla... Bla..." Does it matter? Nope. Not at all to me.

Cool! With this back up resource in mind, oh sorry! back up idea in mind, I am back to my system to finish off my so called EOD tasks!

Does that end here? No. More to follow. Keep watching this space. Courtesy- Business Ideas
