THE OPPORTUNITY

HS Renewables is expanding! We’re looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer or Electrical Engineering graduate to join our team, working on domestic, commercial and agricultural solar PV and battery storage projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Produce CAD drawings, schematics and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
* Assist with solar PV and battery storage system design.
* Prepare NIE Networks and ESB Networks grid applications, including G98/G99 and NC6/NC7 where applicable.
* Complete electrical calculations, cable sizing and technical documentation.
* Support projects from design to installation and commissioning.
* Assist with site surveys and technical assessments.
* Work with project managers and installation teams to ensure designs meet relevant standards.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

* Degree, HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or related discipline.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software.
* Ability to read and create electrical drawings.
* Sound electrical engineering knowledge.
* Good communication, IT and organisational skills.
* Willingness to learn and develop.
* Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Solar PV, battery storage or grid connection experience is an advantage, not essential. Training and support provided.

☀️ Could your community generate its own renewable energy?

The Great British Energy Community Fund is now open for applications, with £20 million available to support community organisations developing clean energy projects across Northern Ireland, England and Wales.

Funding is available at different project stages:

🔹 Up to £40,000 for feasibility studies
🔹 Up to £100,000 for project development
🔹 Up to £3 million towards eligible capital projects, or up to 50% of the total project value

Eligible projects may include:

☀️ Solar PV
🔋 Battery storage
⚡ Other renewable energy technologies

The fund is aimed at eligible community organisations, including:

• Community Interest Companies
• Co-operative Societies
• Development Trusts
• Registered Charities
• Other eligible community organisations

Projects are expected to be at least 50% community owned once operational.
