✨ A very special night at the Millennium Forum! ✨

We were absolutely delighted to be invited to attend the Millennium Forum’s 25th Anniversary Gala Celebration on Friday night - and what a memorable evening it was for Stage Beyond Theatre Company! 🎭❤️

Representing Stage Beyond were our inspirational Chairperson/company member(s) Bernie Shiels and Frank Nelis, accompanied by our Artistic Director Dee Conaghan and Communications Officer Bernie Mullen.🎭📝

We were thrilled - and incredibly honoured - when Stage Beyond was announced as a recipient of a special presentation in recognition of our almost 25 years as resident theatre company at the Millennium Forum.🫶🎩

And then came another very special moment… sharing the stage with David McLaughlin, CEO of the Forum and Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol, Patron of the Forum! The patronage honours Johnny’s roots and heritage as a proud Derry man and reflects his belief in using the arts to bring communities together.🤩🎶

To say there was huge excitement among the Stage Beyond contingent would be an understatement! What an absolute privilege to share such a special stage with Johnny as part of this wonderful celebration. 🎉🙌

The recognition from the Forum was particularly poignant for us. Stage Beyond will celebrate a very special milestone of our own next year, marking 25 years of creating, performing and sharing theatre from our 'home' at the Millennium Forum. Our Artistic Director Dee was one of the key founders of Stage Beyond in 2002, making this recognition all the more meaningful.🎁❤️

Over the years, Stage Beyond has received numerous local, national and international awards - but this one was very special indeed. To be recognised by the venue that has been our home, partner and supporter for almost a quarter of a century means a huge amount to everyone connected with the company.🎭🏛️

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone at the Millennium Forum for this wonderful recognition, for inviting us to share in such a memorable celebration, and for almost 25 years of support, friendship and collaboration.👏🎫

We’re incredibly proud of our journey so far - and excited for the next chapter as we look ahead to 25 years of Stage Beyond in 2027! We'll make sure to bring you all with us!🎭❤️

🎉💃 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DANCING QUEEN, MARIE! 💃🎉

Today is all about celebrating our wonderful Marie - one of Stage Beyond’s longest-standing members and one of the coolest people in the company! 😎❤️

Marie brings fun, laughter, warmth and fabulous energy wherever she goes. She loves performing, she loves being with her Stage Beyond friends, and she REALLY loves to dance! 💃🎶

From The Caucasian Chalk Circle to playing Amelia Earhart at Access All Areas, and even taking on the role of dance tutor during our Tutor for the Day summer programme, Marie has continued to shine and show us just how talented and enthusiastic she is. 🌟

And what better way to spend your birthday morning than dancing at the Millennium Forum! 🎭💃

Today we’re kicking off our brand-new six-week Contemporary Dance & Health Project, co-produced with our participants and directed by Dr Jenny Elliott OBE - and we know Marie is going to be in her absolute element! ❤️

Of course, there’ll be plenty of dancing… plenty of celebrating… and CAKE! 🎂🥳

🎭✨ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FABULOUS AOIFE! ✨🎭

Today we’re celebrating one of the absolute stars of the Stage Beyond family - our gorgeous Aoife! 🥳💖

Three years ago, this talented young lady travelled all the way from the North Coast and joined our Stage Beyond crew… and what a brilliant decision that turned out to be! 🌟

Aoife has the kind of personality that is impossible to miss. She walks into a room and lights it up - bringing smiles, laughter, energy and usually a fair bit of chat with her! 😂❤️ She has a knack for making friends wherever she goes and is one of those very special people who seems to know everyone… and everyone seems to know and love her!

And then you put her on a stage… 🎭✨

WOW.

A natural-born performer, Aoife throws herself into every role, embraces every challenge and gives everything she’s got. She has grown into such a confident, talented and versatile performer - and watching her shine on stage is an absolute joy.💃🎩

But as brilliant as her talent is, it’s Aoife herself that makes her such a huge part of our Stage Beyond family. 💕 She’s kind, fun, hugely popular, wonderfully enthusiastic and always ready to get stuck in - whether she’s centre stage, behind the scenes or somewhere in between!

Three years on, we genuinely can’t imagine Stage Beyond without her. 🌟

Aoife, we hope you have the most amazing birthday and get thoroughly spoiled today - you deserve it! 🎂🎉

🎭🎂 BREAKING NEWS FROM STAGE BEYOND! 🎂🎭

We have a very important announcement to make…

Someone rather fabulous had a birthday yesterday! 👀

Now, we could pretend we forgot… but frankly, we suspect Breandan Lavery has been far too busy plotting his next theatrical villainy to notice! 😈😂

So, fashionably late - and therefore obviously very sophisticated - we want to wish our brilliant Breandan a HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND! 😉🎉🥳

Breandan is one of our much-loved Stage Beyond stars, and over the years he has brought all sorts of wonderful characters to life. He has a real gift for roleplay, character work and improvisation - and, given half a chance, he’ll happily channel his inner mischievous villain! 🦹‍♂️🎭🎩

There’s something wonderfully entertaining about watching Breandan get into character. One minute he’s his lovely, friendly, relaxed self… and the next, you’re wondering whether you should perhaps check the exits! 😂🕺

He’s not just a talented performer either - Breandan is a hugely valued member of our Stage Beyond family. He loves the acting, the games, the creativity, the storytelling and, perhaps most importantly, the friendships and fun that come with being part of the group. ❤️🫶

And of course, we must raise a glass to one of his many memorable roles in our award-winning film 'Mind The Time' - where Breandan was also absolutely fabulous as a barman! 🍻🎬

🎬 Actor? Yes.
🎭 Character creator? Absolutely.
😂 Improviser? Definitely.
😈 Mischievous villain? Oh, almost certainly…
🍻 Barman? Apparently, he can do that too!

Breandan is also one of our most loyal Stage Beyond supporters, keeping a close eye on all our adventures here on Facebook - so we thought it was only fair to give him his very own moment in the spotlight! 🌟

Happy Birthday, Darren!🥳🎉

Everyone at Stage Beyond Theatre Company would like to wish our wonderfully talented member Darren a very happy birthday as he celebrates a special milestone today!🎈

It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since Darren made his Stage Beyond debut in The Great Dictator touring production. Since then, he has shone in numerous roles and become a much-valued member of the company.🤗

Darren has a real talent for composing and delivering inspiring monologues, bringing thoughtfulness, creativity and plenty of character to his performances. While he may be modest by nature, he certainly isn’t afraid to get stuck into a wide range of roles - including comedy! His performance in Derry Strabane Culture Night 2023 Shakespeare piece in the main hall at the Guildhall certainly springs to mind!🤩

Away from the stage, Darren is a big fan of wheelchair basketball and he was able to put those skills to excellent use during our recent Tutor for a Day showcase as part of our summer programme.👨‍🦽🏀

He’s also been a great sport on stage - quite literally! - allowing himself to be propelled across the stage in that memorable scene from The Caucasian Chalk Circle. It’s moments like these that capture Darren’s enthusiasm, good humour and willingness to throw himself wholeheartedly into whatever the performance demands.🎭🎩

So, from all of us at Stage Beyond, Happy Birthday, Darren! We hope you have a fantastic day and enjoy every moment of the celebrations - including your two exciting upcoming holidays!😎🛳️

🌟🎭 What a fantastic morning of theatre, creativity and celebration! 🎭🌟

A huge congratulations to every one of our incredible performers from Stage Beyond Theatre Company – Letterkenny and facilitator Nora Kavanagh for delivering a wonderful performance of "Mirrors of Fantasy." 🌈✨

After weeks of writing, rehearsing and bringing their characters to life, our talented cast truly shone on stage. We couldn't be prouder of everything they achieved - and not forgetting our carers - you were all simply amazing! 👏💙

A big thankyou to Stage Beyond legend Makaton with Eve who also went down a storm with her super performance at the event!💃🎧

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along to support us today. Your applause, encouragement and enthusiasm meant so much to our performers and helped make the showcase even more special.👏🎉

🎭✨ The stage is set... and the magic is about to begin! ✨🎭

After weeks of creativity, script writing, laughter and dedicated rehearsals, our incredible Stage Beyond Theatre Company – Letterkenny cast are ready to take to the stage this morning!

Our amazing company members, who attend from local centres including the National Learning Network, will proudly present "Mirrors of Fantasy" at 11.30am in The Vestry, Letterkenny.

Behind the scenes, excitement is building as our talented performers prepare backstage with hair and make-up, ready to share the wonderful characters and stories they've brought to life under the expert guidance of the fabulous Nora Kavanagh.

This performance is a celebration of creativity, confidence, teamwork and the joy of theatre. We couldn't be prouder of every single cast member and all the hard work they've put into making today's showcase so special.

If you're in Letterkenny this morning, we'd love to see you! Why not pop into The Vestry Cairde le Cheile (St Conal's hospital campus) at 11.30am, cheer on our fantastic performers and experience the magic of "Mirrors of Fantasy"? Family, friends and supporters are all very welcome.
