Well what can I say, no sooner have we been advised that private practise in England was prohibited, the DVSA have now changed their minds..........again!

So private driving practise is now allowed. You can only practise with someone in your bubble and it must only be on an essential journey.

I wonder how long it will be before they change their minds again.

Welcome to the latest update on learning to drive during the latest lockdown.

In the first lockdown, and during the November lockdown private practice was allowed with a member of your family bubble provided it was for an essential journey.

This is no longer the case.

In England all private practise is now prohibited. Private practise can continue in Wales and in Scotland as before.

All training provided by professional trainers and instructors is also prohibited.

It is all outlined in the attached link.

If you are driving a car with L plates during lockdown, then you are likely to be stopped and questioned by the Police.

Who can teach you to drive, practising with friends and family, driving lessons, insurance, using L and P plates.

This afternoon in the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg MP and Leader of the House of Commons announced that driver training for all types of vehicle can recommence from July 4th 2020. Rees-Mogg also indicated that the government department responsible for training standards and testing would be writing to all the Approved Driving Instructors today outlining the processes involved for safe re-introduction of driving test and examinations for car, motorbike, trailers, buses, and large goods vehicles.

So far the detail has been limited, but we are promised more will follow in the coming days.
As far as cars are concerned Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has announced that learners can resume driving lessons and motorcycle training in England from Saturday 4 July 2020.

The rule applies to all types of driver and motorcycle training in England, including private practice with someone you live with or in your support bubble.

Theory tests will restart in England on Saturday 4 July. The tests will take place with social distancing measures in place to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Car driving tests will restart in England on Wednesday 22 July, which will give those of you who have tests cancelled time to have refresher lessons and practice before taking your test.

I will be in touch again as soon as I know more, and will let you know what action I'll be taking to keep the car sanitised in order to minimise of any cross-contamination and to keep us safe.
Oh and there are other exciting developments in the Aspect Driving Academy world that will be revealed in due course

We will be accepting bookings for Monday 6th onwards.......

Looking forward to seeing you all soon, and until then keep safe

Cheers
