Introducing D.A.D. – Dignity and Delight
A new kind of day care service in Sandwell & surrounding areas.

Pick up & drop off available within 2 miles!
Held at West Bromwich Naval Association Club.
Mon - Fri.

Built by the community, for the community.

Run by trained care professionals from the Black Country, D.A.D. is a warm, welcoming day centre especially for:
• Veterans
• People living with dementia
• Their families and carers

We provide:
• A hot meal, drinks and snacks
• Personal care (if needed)
• Games, music and memory sessions
• Inter-generational activities to bring people together
• A safe space so families can take a break

All for just £10 per hour or £30 for the full session — a fraction of the cost of 1:1 home care.

But this isn’t just about care.
It’s about connection, laughter, and belonging.

D.A.D. is more than a service.
It’s a movement — rooted in the values of the Black Country.

We want to say a huge thank you to:
• Dal, our care coordinator, who keeps things running smoothly and supports our carers & service users every step of the way whilst balancing everything that isn't in the job role!
• Sam, our registered manager, who brings calm, focus and real heart to everything she does - having held the fort on her own for so long, Sam is the perfect example of the Black Country - community led, hard graft and caring to all who need it!
• Jackie, our partnerships manager, who’s out there building relationships and spreading the word about the service we offer, plus some big news to come soon on our next ventures
• And our directors, Chris and Matt, who bring personal experience, vision, and relentless energy to the mission

We’re proud to share that Chris Taylor, owner of Bridgewater Homecare Sandwell, will be a guest on the upcoming episode of The Dementia Dialogue podcast, airing this September.

Chris is a veteran, a local lad, and someone who’s lived through the challenges of caring for a loved one with dementia — his dad.

It was that personal experience that inspired him to start Bridgewater Sandwell. He knew families needed support from people who truly understood what it feels like.

Now he’s sharing his story, his passion, and why local care by local people matters more than ever.

Sometimes it can be hard as a family to sit down and have these chats. When a loved one first gets that diagnosis it hits everyone hard and it continues to do so as dementia is known as " the long goodbye". Each person still has the right to be treated in a person centred way and by doing so will result in a better quality of life! Having these conversations & planning ahead can allow the person to make decisions based on their day to day care, decide what that looks like, make advanced decisions and so much more. As hard as these conversations can be for you and your loved ones it allows everyone to work in collaboration to give the support where it is needed most.
