Here I am, back on the rock I once called home.
It’s quite bizarre, really. I left Scotland in 2003 when I was 12. Then in 2018, I left the island to move to England and never really felt the need to come back. Our family holidays became Malta, Santorini, Cyprus… because after knowing this island like the back of my hand, I wanted to see more of the world.
But the truth is, it still feels like home.
Some great memories, and some not so great — but home all the same.
Where my heart lies.
Where I feel happiest.
By the beach, watching the sunset, with the sea air against my skin.
Mini M’s time here feels long lost now — she barely remembers it at all — but watching her swimming in the sea like the little fish she is reminds me that a piece of her heart belongs here too.
I’ll never move back. We’ve built a wonderful life in the UK, and I’ve built a successful business supporting incredible business owners. But it’s nice to be back.
And that’s the beauty of running a virtual business like mine — I can work from anywhere in the world while still helping tired, overworked business owners focus on what they do best.
