Stunning one-off house build designed by . A beautiful 6-bedroom family home complete with private swimming pool, gym, sauna, and extensive gardens. The front was designed to look modest, using traditional Scottish materials to be in keeping with the surrounding area, while the interior and rear have a more modern, luxurious feel.

BIM stands for Building Information Modelling and is hot stuff in the construction world. Here at DDS Architecture we have been building models using a BIM process since 2014. This particular project was the conversion of a grade A listed building into student accommodation. Heritage architecture can be challenging to achieve with a BIM process but we did it 👍

“Eco houses” have until now been generally affordable to the rich only (therefore not sustainable...) so great to see that this house, one of several in a social housing development, is incorporating techniques to make eco construction cheap enough for mass production. Also great to see that a way to use Scottish timber for construction has finally been developed 👍

Scottish innovators have produced a negative carbon house that can be easily dismantled and recycled.

Planning approved! 💫

We are very pleased to have had planning permission provisionally approved (subject to a legal agreement with City of Edinburgh Council) for our development of 6 flats and a commercial unit within the Currie conservation area of Edinburgh. We are looking forward to the construction stage and we are glad the planners shared our vision of our development bringing amenities and additional housing to the area.
