It's been a funny few weeks. I seem to have been doing a bit of painting of my own plastering work. These rooms were plastered about a year ago helping out a customer doing a self renovation. They invited me back to help push things along. But this time with my paint brush! Actually these two bedrooms were sprayed with our Graco gx21 sprayer. They are now ready for a colour topcoat.

Sometimes being a plasterer can be hard going and I know I've questioned whether I can keep on going at times. I have constant back pain and arthritis and on those grey Monday mornings when the job throws up those challenges one really does have to dig deep. Running your own business means the buck stops with you and you can't just call in and say not today thanks. I've always maintained reputation is key and I pride myself on it. I always treat each job as if it were my own home taking pride in my work. So when I get a feedback like this it really does make it all worth while. Knowing you have given your best and helped out a customer who really appreciates what you have done makes me smile.

I've recently experienced the odd bad bag of multi finish like many plasterers have posted about. So I mentioned it to Marc Cardno at Ellon Timber and he was only too happy to help out and buy in a pallet of board finish. The guys in the yard are always so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend them if your in the Ellon area and need materials. So fellow spreads if your looking for board finish look no further than ellon timber. I'm sure Marc will do you a competitive price.

Today's little job was indeed little. No room to swing a cat in this small downstairs toilet. But 10 out 10 to my customer for the fabulous prep they did themselves removing all the old tiles around the sink without causing any damage and for removing the radiator and toilet which gave me ever so slightly more room to manoeuvre. All came together nicely. Onto the next one.
