Here is a build we completed in Pennymore, Devon.

A complete transformation of this family home 🏡
Our clients wanted to create a more functional and connected living space, replacing the existing conservatory with a new kitchen and dining extension overlooking the garden.

Delivered across two stages, the project included:
• Demolition of the existing conservatory
• New kitchen and dining extension
• Bespoke IQ Glass doors overlooking the garden
• New entrance porch
• Internal alterations
• Extensive drainage works and a large soakaway
• New windows, fascias, soffits and rainwater goods
• Patio and external works
• Full redecoration

As principal contractor, we managed the project from start to finish, coordinating trades and accommodating numerous changes and additions throughout the build.
The result is a bright, spacious and cohesive home, completely transformed around the way our clients wanted to live.

From maintaining a clean, safe and organised site to carefully restoring the original timber beams, every decision was made with quality and longevity in mind. Rather than simply preserving the character of this home, we worked to enhance it—revealing the beauty of the historic oak and allowing it to become a defining feature of the finished renovation.

We recently had the pleasure of returning to this property in Topsham, Exeter, which we completed three years ago. Seeing it fully furnished and lived in reminded us just how special this project was—and how rewarding it is to see a house become a home.

This high-quality renovation seamlessly blends modern construction with the original character and charm of the property.

One of the standout features of this project is the new glazed link between the two pitched roofs. This bespoke structure creates access to the top-floor living space, improving the flow of the home while inviting an abundance of natural light. Working alongside our excellent joiners at James Riggall Fine Joinery and the talented architects at Savills, this architectural feature was carefully designed to be both functional and visually striking.

The pitched glazed design doesn’t just look impressive- it also provides effective drainage, combining beautiful design with practical performance.

Preserving the property’s original character was equally important. We carefully restored the existing oak timber frame, stripping back the original beams and leaving them exposed as a feature throughout the home. Set against crisp white walls, the contrast highlights the craftsmanship of the historic timber while complementing the clean, contemporary finish.

The result is a home that respects its heritage while providing the comfort, light and functionality of modern living

A closer look at one of the standout features of our Starcross project.

This bespoke oak canopy was designed to frame the stunning views across the Exe Estuary while providing effective solar shading and architectural character.

The finished result sits atop a significant programme of works, including a full strip-out, removal of two-thirds of the existing roof, major structural alterations, and the construction of a new first-floor extension—all while the family remained living on site.

From July 2024 to June 2025, this extensive refurbishment and extension was delivered in under a year through careful planning, close collaboration and a commitment to quality throughout.

Projects like this showcase the combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern construction techniques that define our work.

This extensive refurbishment and extension transformed a former gatehouse into a contemporary family home overlooking the Exe Estuary.

The project included major structural alterations, the removal of two-thirds of the existing roof, a new first-floor extension, and a bespoke oak canopy with integrated solar shading- combining heritage character with modern design and functionality. The final picture shows the original building, as you can see, a lot has changed.

A unique aspect of this project was that the family remained living on site throughout the build. With young children in residence, safety, communication and client collaboration were central to every stage of the works.

As principal contractor and project manager, we oversaw the project from start to finish, delivering a home that maximises both its living space and stunning surroundings.
