Ever feel like you’re constantly busy, but somehow never actually getting ahead?
You’re delivering the work. Answering the emails. Sorting the problems. Doing the admin. Putting out approximately 47 tiny fires before lunch.
But the things that would actually give you more control, structure and breathing space?
They keep getting pushed to tomorrow. 👀
I recently joined Melanie Marshall to talk about the hidden cost of overwhelm for small business owners - both inside the business and at home.
One of the things we talked about was something I see regularly with business owners:
⭐ Sometimes you need to delegate the delegation.
When you’re knee-deep in your business, it can be incredibly difficult to work out what you could hand over. You know every process, every workaround and every weird little way your business operates… you’re simply too close to the chaos to see it objectively.
And that’s where a fresh pair of eyes can make a massive difference.
We also chatted about the difference between being busy and productive, why constantly firefighting keeps you working in your business rather than on it, and what happens when that overwhelm starts following you home.
Because the goal isn’t just to get more work done.
It’s to build a business that doesn’t require you to be permanently switched on just to keep it afloat.
A huge thank you to Mel for inviting me on - I absolutely loved our conversation! 🙏🏻
