The Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is currently in the process of talking to leadership figures from across the nation in an attempt to understand this universal trait and what it means in Britain and Northern Ireland today.

Recently I was invited onto an episode of the podcast. Host Scott Challinor asked a series of questions about leadership and the role it has played in my career to date.

As Scott says, “hosting a show like this, where you speak to genuine leaders who have been there and done it, either on a national stage or within a crucial industry sector, is an absolute honour”.

Are you ready to be challenged?

Many of you will know that I’m a big fan of group coaching or mastermind groups.

Working with a group of like-minded peers is a great way of sharing ideas and solving whatever challenges we’re facing using the power of the collective knowledge and experience.

As a facilitator, nothing gives me greater pleasure than to see those “light bulb moments” when group members get clarity of the steps they need to take to achieve whatever results they’re looking for …. It’s precisely why I do what I do.

I’ll be starting a brand new Sales Mastermind Group soon for B2B business owners and sales people.

We’ll meet (online) each month and start by discussing our individual goals for the coming months and then agree the specific actions we need to take to move us closer to our goals. In subsequent months the group then hold each other accountable for completing the tasks we’ve agreed to. It’s fun, it’s challenging, we have a few laughs along the way but above all, we achieve results!

Each month, they’ll also be a short training session where we’ll cover a specific aspect of effective selling.

Each member also gets free access to our EPIC Selling online training programme.

I didn’t set out to write a book.

When I set up Proten Sales Development, whilst I was waiting for the web site to be designed and launched, I used my time to write a series of blog posts that could then be drip fed onto the site over time.

Once I had around 25 articles written, it became pretty obvious that they actually formed the basis of a pretty useful introduction to selling skills for people who perhaps didn’t have any formal sales background or who’d never undergone any training.

So with some careful editing and adding more detail, example scenarios and snippets from my career “It’s All About The Value” was born.

I’m incredibly proud of it, not just because of the achievement of writing it, but also because of the feedback that readers have sent me.
