There will always be people who hurt you and then twist the story to make you look like the villain.

They will take your kindness for weakness, your silence for guilt, and your forgiveness for permission.

They will do you wrong and then try to rewrite the truth so others believe you are the problem.

But here’s the truth they can’t erase: your worth is not defined by the lies others tell about you.

Your peace is not theirs to steal, and your heart is not theirs to stain.

Let them talk, let them twist, let them play their games—because in the end, the truth always has a way of shining through.

Protect your heart, hold on to your dignity, and remember that the way someone treats you says more about them than it ever will about you.

Stay soft, stay kind, and walk away knowing that your story doesn’t need their approval to be valid.

The advantages of being alcohol free, particularly at times of the year like this.

There’s such pressure to drink alcohol, and it makes it feel impossible to ever not do it.

I managed it and I’m over three years in. I’d highly recommend it; it’s life changing.

Learning to choose myself.

They have no idea how hard it is for me to set boundaries and put myself first because ive always been a people pleaser.

I’ve spent so many years putting other people first that now, when i try to prioritise myself, it feels strange. Like I’m doing something bad. But deep down, I know it's not bad; it's necessary.

I just don't really know how to do it yet without feeling guilty.

So even when i'm hurting, I still worry more about how the other person feels than how i feel.

I keep thinking, "what if they think i'm mean?" and that makes it so hard.

But I’m trying to change. I’m learning to speak up more. I’m learning to say no when something doesn't feel right. I’m trying to unlearn old habits and build new ones that feel safer and more honest.

I know it's not going to happen overnight, and i know it's going to take time.

It’s not easy and, even if it doesn't come naturally yet, i know i'm doing better than before. And maybe that's what matters most right now.

I cannot understate the relief I feel this afternoon. After far too many weeks trying to extract myself from the untenable living situation - unlawful evictions are never pleasant, I hear - I’ve cracked it this morning.

With the help of far too many to mention, I feel an incredible weight lifted from my shoulders.

This part of my story isn’t over. Unlawful actions don’t sit well with me; they never have. And, when people abuse the power they have, I’ve always believed those people should be held accountable.

That accountability will come but, meantime, I’ve got a new life to lead. Free from all that toxicity.
