We are a chargeable but not-for-profit Scottish Charity set up to help the elderly and disabled residents of Angus carry out repairs to their home by skilled, trustworthy reliable Small Repairs Officers.

🚨We are looking to recruit volunteers to help run our Angus Community Tools Library based in our office in Forfar.

There are various roles available with differing responsibilities -

🧑‍🤝‍🧑Customer Service - meet and greet all visitors to the tools library, check items in and out

🛠️Repair & Maintenance - undertake repairs and maintenance of the library items, test donated items before adding to the library, PAT test electrical items (professional training will be provided)

👩‍💻Social Media - Share news by creating content (videos, posters etc)

🖥️Data Administrator - reviewing and maintaining records of items when donated, borrowed and returned and maintaining membership database

❓What do you get in return?

🔴Free membership and borrowing from the tools library
🔴Learn new skills; customer services, PAT testing, digital skills etc
🔴Training for the role where you can learn at your own pace
🔴Become part of a team of volunteers all cheering you on! 🙌

🌟Angus Community Tools Library 🌟

I thought I’d just do a short video on the Community Tools Libraries to save everyone reading my long posts on FB!

It was a spur of the moment decision to do the video 😬 and no preparation so hopefully it’s okay, but I did forget to say that we will be including volunteers in this initiative, and once set up it will be run by volunteers. If you saw our post yesterday regarding donations of tools, you will know the ethos behind this Community Tools Library is to help reduce waste and save money by sharing tools and equipment which households either cannot afford or only use 1 or twice so does not make sense for everyone to purchase from new. And it's not just tools as you'll see below👇

✨Angus Community Tools Library - We are pleased to announce we are now full Members of Circular Communities Scotland! ♻️

🛠️We are putting together the inventory for our new Community Tools Library, which will be up and running soon.

We are reaching out to the community for any donations of tools/equipment - see poster below for an example of the things we are looking for👇

The Community Tools Library is built on the idea of helping both the environment and our wallets, so buying everything new would go against what it stands for. We know many unused or unwanted tools and pieces of equipment could be donated and shared by the wider community, and we will only purchase those we don't receive by way of donation.

🌍This helps reduce our throwaway culture and enables people to carry out home maintenance/DIY at a fraction of the cost by sharing items they may only need once or twice a year 🙏

We want to accept donations that will be of definite use to our charity and our community – so if we say no to your kind offer please don’t think we are ungrateful; we are just trying to ensure that any donations can help us achieve our goals.
