Excavator Operator – Lothians & Borders
We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and motivated Excavator Operator to join our growing team, working across forests, estates, and upland sites throughout the Lothians, Borders, and Northumberland. Much of our work takes place in remote rural environments rather than traditional construction sites, so a countryside background or experience working in rural settings would be a real advantage.
Key Requirements:
• NPORS or CPCS certification (above and below 10 tonnes) preferred, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Experience operating excavators and a range of attachments. Tilt rotator experience advantageous but not essential.
• Professional and approachable when dealing with clients and landowners.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Practical, proactive, and capable of making sound decisions when required.
• Takes pride in maintaining machinery to a high standard.
• Comfortable using modern technology (full training provided).
• Good mechanical awareness and the ability to deal with minor issues.
What We Offer:
• Company van and fuel card.
• Ongoing training and professional development.
• The opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects in unique rural locations.
• A supportive working environment with opportunities for long-term progression.
Important: This is a full-time position and requires someone who is dependable, committed, and professional. We are looking for an individual who understands the responsibilities of being part of a hardworking team and can be relied upon to turn up, work efficiently, and take pride in the job. This role is not suited to someone seeking the freedom to come and go as they please.
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your CV and references to [email protected]. If you don’t have a CV, simply send us some information about yourself, your experience, and why you feel you would be a good fit for the role.
