It’s February!
The darkest period of Winter is behind us - the nights are getting shorter and soon the flowers will begin to bloom again 🌼

There is so much beauty in the general everyday spaces that surround us and in the darker, colder months it can be harder to see it.

Be encouraged to take a walk in your local parks or take the time to visit a heritage site, as we get more and more light each day.

You might be surprised how easy it is to find some peace and beauty in your surroundings, as we edge our way out of the Winter months 🩵

Did you know that skilled blacksmiths can "listen" to the metal as they work? The sound—either a sharp ring or a dull thud—reveals critical details about its readiness and quality. It’s a centuries-old skill passed down through generations.

If you could master one ancient craft, what would it be? Tell us in the comments!

Who We Are Wednesday

This week, we’re featuring another talented student from Hereford College of the Arts as he hones his skills in the forge. 🔥 Today, he’s crafting a small but mighty pair of tongs, bringing precision and focus to every detail. Here at Hereford Make, our community of makers supports each other in mastering traditional techniques while forging a future for heritage crafts. Together, we celebrate the artistry and dedication it takes to shape these timeless pieces.
