Our QS team were joined this week by Charlie Quinlivan from Bearsden Academy as part of a work experience programme.

It was a packed few days as Charlie was able to see how surveyors work with clients and contractors and visited active sites including Eastfield Train Depot and Glasgow Clyde College 🦺

Charlie said, “A huge thank you to everyone at Doig + Smith, particularly those who took the time to share their knowledge and experience. It was a great opportunity to see the industry first-hand, and I’ve come away with a much better understanding of the profession.”

We were delighted to welcome Paul Dodd from Scottish Futures Trust to our Glasgow office for an insightful discussion on AI in the construction industry 🏗️

The session explored both the opportunities and challenges that AI presents for our sector, prompting some great conversations about how we embrace innovation while continuing to deliver value for our clients.

Our colleagues Robyn Catherwood, William Bowie and Isla Sawers were delighted to attend the Marie Curie UK Glasgow Brain Game last night as guests of both MLA and BakerHicks 🧠

The event combined friendly competition, networking and plenty of brain-teasing challenges, all while raising vital funds to support the incredible work that Marie Curie does for people living with terminal illness and their families.

Thank you to Baker Hicks and MLA for the invitations and for hosting such an enjoyable evening 🥂 Events like these are a great reminder of the positive impact that can be achieved when industries come together behind an important cause ❤️

Great to see Paul and Matt representing Doig+Smith at the recent Schools Fair at St Andrew’s Secondary.
