Red Telephone Box Restoration - K2&K6 Kiosks SPARE PARTS

Red Telephone Box Restoration - K2&K6 Kiosks SPARE PARTS We offer a restoration service for your Great British Red Telephone Boxes, so you can enjoy it as it would have been in its hay day in the 20's.

We restore original K2 and K6 B.T Telephone boxes. The K2 was designed in 1924 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and 8000 were deployed in and around London in 1926. This was followed by the K6 in 1935. The K6 was originally designed for the Silver jubilee of King George V, 19,000 were installed in and across the UK, replacing most of the existing boxes and making it the loved iconic British symbol it is

today. Because of our appreciation for the history, importance and beauty of these famous historic treasures we take great pride in lovingly restoring them to their original grandeur. Contact us for a quote on an restoration work you require including phone boxes and other items.

In 2012, a variety of artists and designers were invited to reimagine the phone booth in a competition called BT Artbox. Their creations were later auctioned off in honor of the 25th anniversary of ChildLine, a children’s charity. One of the works of art created for the occasion was this sofa called Box Lounger by Benjamin Shine. It looks quite comfy!

British artist Laura Keeble put reclaimed stained glass with religious iconography into the glass panels of phone booths to create art in 2012. Titled “Confessional,” the booths were installed on London streets, sometimes right next to a normal phone booth. There was no priest waiting inside, however; the art was meant to provoke a double-take from passers-by.

Located on the town’s Promenade, the phone boxes host rotating art exhibitions featuring artists selected through open calls. The first exhibition, held earlier this year, was themed to complement a concurrent exhibition at The Wilson, Cheltenham’s Art Gallery and Museum.

Popping up in central London’s Bloomsbury Square at lunchtime during the summer months, family-run Spier’s Salads serves up fresh and healthy salads to hungry office workers, students, and other passersby. When the sun’s out, we highly recommend grabbing a salad packed full of seasonal ingredients and picnicking in the bucolic surroundings of Bloomsbury Square Gardens.

Billing itself as a “restaurant with rooms” and happy to stoke unconfirmed rumors that the Queen ate there during her 80th birthday cruise, the charming Kilberry Inn in Argyll and Bute, serves up some of best cooking on Scotland’s west coast. After dining on Highland beef and hand-dived scallops from the Sound of Jura, head outside to The Wee Bar for a drink. Housed in a red phone box next to the red-roofed stone building, the tiny bar holds an outsize selection of Scottish gins, including The Isle of Harris Gin and The Botanist Gin from Islay.
