We are pleased to announce the appointment of Les Cleevely as first team manager.
Les’s professional career started with an apprenticeship at Southampton FC. He had spells with Notts County, IFK Kungsbacca in Sweden before coming back to the first of two spells with Crystal Palace.
Having had limited first team experiences and numerous injuries including broken ankles and a broken spine Les moved into non league football playing over 1,000 games for clubs such as Carshalton Athletic, Sutton United, Farnborough Town, Enfield ,Welling United and Dulwich Hamlet where Les had his first non league management experiences.
It was then that Les embarked upon taking his coaching badges which included his UEFA A and goalkeeper A license and as well as this he took a masters degree in sports Psychology .
Les’s first professional coaching job was with Millwall before moving onto Fulham, It was at Fulham Les also had his first experience with ladies football as part of his contract was to work with a very successful ladies set up.
From Fulham Les went to Crystal Palace as the first team goalkeeping coach and was then lucky to spend two years working with Spurs before moving to his Boyhood club Chelsea working at all levels.
Les then embarked on a teaching route at The Harrodian school, other
Teaching roles have included the likes of Charterhouse and Eton.
Managerial roles included Carshalton and Walton and Hersham, Player coach at Aldershot the last two years have been spent building and managing Carshalton’s academy.
Les’s goalkeeping school has now been running for 22 years producing some 60 plus professional goalkeepers and a large number in the semi professional game.
Les will appoint his assistants in due course and we will introduce them as they are appointed.
