We've done
✅️Make up
✅️Bowling
✅️Arcades
✅️Arts and crafts
✅️Met with her boyfriend and family
✅️Holiday research
✅️Starting new and positive routines
✅️Washing clothes and putting away dry ones.
✅️Cooking
✅️Hoovering
✅️Bed changes
And more I've probably forgotten.

It's been fantastic but I'll also be realistic, in being able to achieve all these things I have to become "more" like a "super positive, emotionally stable, consistent actor" and I'll be honest its mentally hard going but so worth it. But also not viable for anyone long term as humans we are bult to have emotions and variables in them.

I can honestly say hand on heart i fully take my hat of to any parents, families with children, young adults and adults who have autism or learning difficulties, its easy for me to come in for a few hours and go you're there 24 hours a day 7 days a week and there's so much people don't see.

So a message to all the parents, families .... YOU ARE DOING AMAZING 💙

When the pacing starts at home I've learnt with this beautiful women that it's the time to go for a decent drive around and enjoying some Tea and Cake on the way.
She's unsettling and her mind becoming "messy" those are her words and it really unsettles her. She is aware she has dementia.

We will go over the same topic for the whole day with questions or information, I look forward to seeing what each days topic will be and enabling those conversations, even if we have the same conversation 30 times over im happy to have it 😊

As soon as she's in the car she settles as this has been her routine for more years than I've been alive.

Dementia is so extremely hard for the people living with it and families dealing with the care. Her mind may forget we've been out today but her body knows!

So when home she is settled physically and mentally, even sometimes remembers weve been out for a good hour after retuning home 💚

She absolutely cracks me up with her one liners ❤️

Had such a lovely weekend working i actually forgot to take any pictures so this is an old one.

Weekend stay with a wonderful young lady and we had a blast, had our nails done, ladies that lunched. Time with her boyfriend browsing shops, light show at the cathedral.
Bowling and McDonald's.

Amongst all that learnt and encouraged practical things.
She did all the road and traffic checking when crossing roads herself when out and Nailed it every time!
Cooked her own boiled eggs for dippy eggs and soldiers, big fear of hot water but she did it!
Did her own washing, made her bed and hoovered her room, even did the dishes!

All with a little guidance a dash of help and a huge amout of positive reinforcement, patience and encouragement meaning we are being productive learning life skills, and having a fun time all rolled into one.

Autism has such a huge umbrella and like all of us, under that umbrella or not we need the right support around us to encourage us to go further and be our best self's ❤️
