One of the most powerful things you can build in your business right now?

A proper client onboarding process.

Because the moment someone signs with you, they immediately start questioning whether they made the right decision. Your onboarding is what answers that question before they even have to ask.

Here’s how to build one from scratch:

Step 1 — The Welcome (Day 0)
The moment someone signs they hear from you. Immediately. Warm, personal and clear on what happens next.

Step 2 — The Intake (Day 0–1)
Send a simple form that captures everything you need to do great work. Goals, challenges, communication preferences, what success looks like to them. Don’t start without it.

Step 3 — The Kickoff Call (Day 1–3)
Not to do the work to align on it. Goals, timeline, expectations. This one call prevents more problems than you can imagine.

Step 4 — The First Week Check In
Three to five days in check in. Not because anything is wrong. Because it shows you care. That one touchpoint builds more trust than a month of good work.

Step 5 — Document it. Repeat it. Every time.
Write every step down so that every single client no matter when they join or how busy you are gets the same brilliant experience.

That’s what turns good clients into raving fans. And raving fans into referrals.

Save this. Build it this week. Your clients deserve it. šŸ“Œ

Do you have an onboarding process right now or are you winging it?

DM me the word ONBOARD and let’s build yours properly. šŸ“©

Your clients chose you.

Out of everyone they could have gone to, they chose you. They trusted you with their time, their money and their results.

That deserves more than winging it every time a new one comes through the door.

It deserves a process.

A clear, documented, repeatable way of delivering your service that means every single client gets the same brilliant experience, not just the ones who happen to catch you on a good day.

Because here’s what inconsistent delivery actually costs you:

→ The client who doesn’t refer you because the experience wasn’t quite what they expected
→ The review you never got because the onboarding felt a bit chaotic
→ The renewal you lost because they didn’t feel looked after enough to stay

You don’t lose clients all at once. You lose them slowly, through the small gaps that a proper delivery system would have closed.

You are good at what you do. Your clients know that.

Now build the system that proves it every single time, not just when everything goes perfectly.

That’s the standard your clients deserve. And honestly? It’s the standard you deserve to operate at too.

Hand on heart, do you have a documented delivery process or are you figuring it out fresh each time? Drop it belowšŸ‘€

Can we be honest for a second?

Most small business owners are winging it.

Winging the onboarding. Winging the delivery. Winging the finances. Winging how they manage their team.

And every day they wing it, they’re building on sand instead of solid ground.

The businesses that actually scale don’t wing it. They have a blueprint. A structure. A clear documented way of doing things that works whether they’re in the business or not.

You don’t need to figure it all out alone. You just need to stop winging it and start building properly.

If I had to start Profit Setters again from scratch tomorrow, here’s exactly what I’d do differently.

1. Build the systems before I needed them.

When I started I was doing everything myself. Every email, every client, every task. I thought that’s just what you did in the beginning. It isn’t. The chaos I let build up cost me time I’ll never get back. I’d document every process from day one, no matter how small.

2. Get a CRM in place immediately.

Not a spreadsheet. Not a notes app. Not my memory. A proper CRM that tracked every lead, every conversation, every follow up. The opportunities I lost in the early days because nothing was organised still stings. Never again.

3. Niche down faster.

Profit Setters started as an appointment setting business. The moment I got specific about who I help and how operations, systems, CRM builds, backend support, everything changed. I’d get there faster next time.

4. Stop trying to do everything alone.

The belief that you have to figure it all out yourself is the most expensive belief in business. I’d find my Bailee sooner. Build the team, share the vision, trust others to carry parts of it with you.

5. Back myself earlier.

The moment I stopped waiting for permission and started trusting what I knew that’s when Profit Setters became what it is today. I’d get there a lot faster next time.

Every mistake taught me something. Every pivot, every hard day, every moment of doubt built the business I run now.

But if you’re just starting out save yourself some of the hard lessons. Start with the systems. Get your operations right from day one. Build the foundation before you build the heightšŸ’™

July. What a month. Let me catch you up. ā˜€ļøšŸ–¤

First things first some absolutely incredible new clients came through the door and honestly I could not be more grateful.

The trust people put in us to help them transform their businesses never gets old. Welcome to the Profit Setters family, you’re in good handsšŸ˜‰

We also dipped back into a little appointment setting the OG roots of this business. Sometimes you go back to where you started and remember exactly why you evolved. Both worlds are serving us well right now and I’m here for it. šŸ’™

The operations calls with clients? Banging. Genuinely some of the best conversations I’ve had watching business owners have those lightbulb moments when they realise what’s actually possible when their backend is finally working properly. That’s why I do this. Every single time.

And then the highlight we took the family to Mijas. ā˜€ļø

If you haven’t been, go. Immediately. The whitewashed streets, the sunshine, the food, the people. Absolute magic. But honestly the best part wasn’t the destination, it was being fully present with my family, soaking up every single moment and remembering exactly what all of this is for.

Charlie, Bailee, family around us. Life really doesn’t get much better than that.

Summer holidays are officially in full swing, Charlie is off and the energy has completely shifted.

Business is going well. Really well. And I don’t say that lightly because I know how hard the journey has been to get here.

August we’re ready for you. Let’s gošŸ–¤

And just like that another month done. šŸ–¤

July you were a lot. But you were also really good.

To every business owner reading this who kept showing up this month even on the flat days, even when it felt like nothing was moving, even when you questioned whether it was all worth it:

It was worth it.

The months that feel quiet are rarely wasted. They’re where the foundations get built. Where the clarity comes. Where you figure out what’s actually working and what needs to change.

Growth isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it’s the decision you made in a Tuesday morning that nobody saw. The process you finally documented. The client you showed up for even when you were running on empty. The boundary you set. The thing you finally let go of.

That’s still progress. That counts.

As we head into a new month don’t just think about what you want to achieve.

Think about what needs to be in place for you to actually get there.

The goals are great. But the systems behind the goals? That’s what makes them real.

Here’s to August. Let’s make it count. šŸ„‚šŸ–¤

Want to know exactly what’s holding your business back operationally?

You don’t need a consultant. You don’t need to spend thousands. You just need one hour and five honest questions.

Here’s how to audit your own operations, right now, today:

Question 1 — The Dependency Check
Write down every task that only YOU know how to do. Every process that lives in your head. That list is your biggest operational risk.

Question 2 — The Repeat Question Check
What do your team or clients ask you most often? Every repeated question is a missing system.

Question 3 — The Friction Check
Where does your business slow down or break? That friction point is almost always a process that doesn’t exist.

Question 4 — The Holiday Check
If you went away tomorrow with no phone, what would fall apart? Everything on that list needs to be documented.

Question 5 — The Priority Check
Look at everything you’ve written. Which ONE thing, if you fixed it this week, would make the biggest difference?

Start there. Not everywhere. There.

One hour. Five questions. More clarity on your operations than most business owners get in a year.

Save this post, you’re going to want to come back to it. šŸ“Œ

My 9-5 was slowly breaking me. And for a long time I didn’t even realise it.

Stressed every single day. Uncomfortable in my own skin. Living hand to mouth, working my hardest for someone else’s dream while mine stayed on hold.

And the people around me at the time? Not the right ones.

I thought that was just life. That’s just how it is. You work, you get by, you survive.

And then everything fell apart.

My relationship broke down. I lost my little family. The thing I cared about most in the world, gone.

And something in me just shifted.

Because rock bottom has a funny way of showing you exactly what you’re made of. And exactly what you’re willing to fight for.

I decided that day that I was done surviving.

I was going to build something. Something real. Something mine. Something that meant my family, whenever I got them back, would never have to worry the way I had.

So I started. Scared. Uncertain. No blueprint. Just a decision and a belief that it had to be possible.

And now?

My family is in the best place we’ve ever been🄹
We have multiple holidays booked every single year.
We can give Charlie things we could only have dreamed of back then.
I wake up every morning building something that’s ours.

I’m not telling you this to show off.

I’m telling you this because if you’re sitting in a job that’s draining you, surrounded by people who aren’t lifting you, wondering if there’s another way…

There is.

It takes work. It takes systems. It takes showing up even when it’s hard and flat and scary.

But it is absolutely, completely, worth it.

Your life can look completely different. I’m living proofā¤ļø

Ten years ago today you arrived weighing 5lb🄺

Happy 10th birthday, Charlie. Double digits. I don’t know how we got here so fast.

That tiny baby is now a boy who is kind, funny, and absolutely unbeatable at any game he touchesšŸ˜‰. You’ve got the biggest heart and the funniest sense of humour for a ten year oldšŸ˜‚

Here’s to many more years of making incredible memories with our baby boy!

Now let’s go and celebrate with go karting in the sun!

Mummy and Daddy love you, baby. To the moon and back. ā¤ļø

Your business is ready to grow. But are your operations ready to support it?

Because here’s what most business owners don’t realise, scaling without the right infrastructure doesn’t make things better. It makes everything louder, faster and harder to manage.

Here are 5 signs your business is ready to scale but your operations aren’t:

You’re turning down work because you can’t handle more
Every new client feels like a scramble
Your team is growing but so is the chaos
You’re making more money but keeping less of it
You know something needs to change but don’t know where to start

Sound familiar?

The answer isn’t to slow down on the growth. It’s to build the operations that make the growth sustainable.

That’s exactly what we do at Profit Setters. We build the backend that means when your business grows, it actually feels like itšŸ˜

Which one hit hardest? 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, drop it below šŸ‘‡
