A lot of drivers don’t realise a significant % of tickets can be cancelled when appealed properly many people quote figures like “up to 56% get waived” because councils/private firms often drop tickets when evidence is strong, signage is unclear, or procedures aren’t followed correctly. The real issue is most people panic-pay or miss deadlines because they assume they can’t challenge it. In London alone, 9 million PCNs were issued in 2024–25, yet only 47,935 reached London Tribunals and drivers won 49.4% of those tribunal appeals. That shows one thing clearly when people actually challenge tickets the right way, a lot of them don’t stand up.
