A routine visit to a client today, led to me being handed this fine specimen.

A mint condition, still shrink-wrapped copy of Lotus Notes 5 from 1999. That's the year before my professional career began.

In those days software of all kinds was still distributed in cardboard boxes that were mostly air.

This was a wonderfully nostalgic moment and allowed for a retrospective look at how far I have come in my professional life these last 14 years.

Help Needed!

We are looking for a young person to join Fisher Solutions as a junior web/system developer.

The full details of the position are yet to be decided and will depend on the ability, availability and circumstances of the chosen candidate.

Training and tools will be provided as needed - the role will be to work and train along side the lead developer to better deal with the intense workloads that Fisher Solutions is currently experiencing.

If you are/know someone who is looking for work, has a keen interest in Web and Database Development and is willing to learn then please get in touch.

Geographically it would make sense if any potential candidates lived within easy travel distance of Halesowen.

The position will involve the following skills and technology (experience in these is not nessesary - but a basic understanding of programming and the internet will help a lot!):

HTML (incl HTML5), CSS, PHP, MySQL, Javascript (incl. jQuery), Web Servers, DNS, IBM Lotus Notes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a young person who is interested in Web Development but struggling to know where to start!

Update: With the house move finally complete and most of the boxes now unpacked we are beginning to get back to some kind of normality at Fisher Solutions HQ.

There is much work to catch up on, as well as much much more going on behind the scenes in family life...

Thank you all so much for your patience during this rather hectic time!

We are all set for a very productive September and final third of 2013.

News Flash: We apologise if you have experienced a slightly slower service from Fisher Solutions over the last couple of months.

This is due to the fact that we are busy moving home. We are only relocating a mile down the road, however the packing and moving of furniture is backbreaking work.

The move is long overdue as our family is way to big for our current home.

We finally moving in to the new house this Saturday. After this, we hope, business will return to normal.

Thank you to all of our loyal clients for bearing with us during this chaotic transition!

News Flash: Fisher Solutions is now a business Partnership. As of April this year the company status changed from Sole Trader to Partnership.

Rob Fisher is now joined by Leigh Fisher (who is also his wife).

Leigh will initially be taking on Administrative and Financial based roles... however in time it is likely that she will become more involved with clients as an account manager.

Lots going on at Fisher Solutions!

Variety is the spice of life it seems, we are working on everything from new website designs, accounting databases and gift aid systems to bookshops and even some old VBA work with MS Excel.

There is nothing we enjoy more here than a problem to solve!
