🌗🌑 FULL MOON… HALF MOON… TOTAL ECLIPSE! 🌑🌗🌕

Our residents have been getting ready for tonight’s eclipse with a very important scientific experiment… involving Jaffa Cakes! 🍊🍫😂

We put the famous saying to the test:

🌕 FULL MOON – a whole Jaffa Cake
🌗 HALF MOON – one big bite!
🌑 TOTAL ECLIPSE – and the whole Jaffa Cake disappears! 😋

A brilliant bit of fun, plenty of laughter and, of course, a very good excuse to enjoy a Jaffa Cake or two while chatting about the moon and tonight’s special event. 🌙✨

Sometimes the best experiments are the ones you can eat! 😂🍫

This week’s Milkshake Monday was full of fun, laughter, and a little bit of adventure as our residents became taste testers for some exciting new milkshake flavours! 🥤🍓🍌

We experimented with a variety of different flavour combinations, with some becoming instant favourites and others… well, let’s just say they weren’t quite as popular! 😄 There were plenty of laughs as everyone shared their opinions, compared their favourites, and even scored each milkshake.

This week at Gardening Club, our residents enjoyed spending time planting and growing beautiful sunflowers to brighten up our garden. 🌻🌿

Everyone got involved by filling pots with compost, carefully sowing the sunflower seeds, watering them, and learning all about how these amazing flowers grow. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm as we talked about the different varieties of sunflowers and shared memories of gardens from years gone by.

Gardening is such a rewarding activity, encouraging gentle exercise, creativity, conversation and a real sense of achievement. We can’t wait to watch our sunflowers grow taller over the coming weeks before they take pride of place in our Engleburn garden, bringing colour and attracting bees and butterflies.

What a wonderful day out our residents had with a visit to the beautiful Blackwater Arboretum in the heart of the New Forest. 🌳☀️

We enjoyed a peaceful stroll beneath the magnificent towering trees, taking in the breathtaking scenery, listening to the birdsong, and appreciating the tranquillity of nature. The fresh forest air and beautiful surroundings made for a truly relaxing afternoon, with plenty of smiles, conversation and special moments shared together.

To make the day even sweeter, everyone treated themselves to a delicious takeaway coffee and a refreshing ice cream while soaking up the lovely summer weather. ☕🍦

This week at Lexi’s Bake Club, our residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon baking delicious Rhubarb & Custard Scones! 🩷🍰

From measuring ingredients and mixing the dough to adding the sweet rhubarb and creamy custard flavours, everyone had the opportunity to get involved. The aroma of freshly baked scones soon filled the home, bringing back happy memories and plenty of smiles.

🤠🌵 What an incredible day at our Annual Engleburn Garden Party! 🌵🤠

This year’s theme was our fantastic Cowboy Hoedown, and what a celebration it was! From the moment our gates opened, residents, families, friends and staff came together for an afternoon filled with laughter, music, delicious food and wonderful memories.

Our home was transformed into the Wild West, complete with games, BBQ, crafts, music and plenty of cowboy spirit. Seeing everyone dressed up and enjoying themselves made the day truly special.

🥧 One of the biggest highlights had to be our Fabulous Pie Eating Competition! There were lots of laughs, plenty of messy faces and some very determined competitors! It was wonderful to see residents, families and staff cheering each other on and sharing so many smiles.

Events like these remind us how important community is and how much joy can be created when everyone comes together.
