Jasmin Appleyard - Unboxed Business Partner Helping overwhelmed small business owners get organised, visible & moving forward. Strategy • Systems • Accountability • AI Support

I’m Jaz Appleyard, and I support women — particularly mums — who are navigating life transitions and feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of what comes next. My work is calm, straight-talking and deeply human. I take the time to understand your life, your responsibilities and what truly matters to you before offering practical, honest support. I help women at turning points — after separation, bur

nout, parenting shifts, identity change, menopause or work transitions — to find clarity, rebuild confidence and move forward in a way that actually fits their real life. This isn’t about pushing harder or fixing yourself. It’s about steadying the ground, understanding what you need, and creating a future that brings balance, fulfilment and a sense of direction. I offer 1:1 support and small group programmes, with limited spaces to protect quality and care.

Some of the strongest people you know are carrying stories you will never hear in full. They kept showing up to work, answering the phone, taking care of other people, and moving through life while privately trying to hold themselves together. From the outside it looked like they had everything under control. From the inside, they were simply choosing not to give up.

If that’s part of your story, don’t overlook it just because it wasn’t graceful. Survival is still movement. Healing is still progress. And the fact that you kept going through a season that could have stopped you is something you are allowed to be deeply proud of.

We had a great time last Friday at our first ever Business & Banter networking event. 😁

It was just what was needed at the end of a long and busy week.

Celebrate wins 🙌
Make Plans for the coming week 📝
Making connections 🤝
Laughs 😅
And enjoying the Summer Sun 🌞

All in good company , which is exactly why I started Business & Banter.

Kids hols mean a break from this but the next one will be the last Friday 25th September from 12- 2.30pm at The She, 9 George street, Old town , Hastings.

Drop a comment or a message if you will be there 😄

The Japanese secret to staying consistent: Ikig*i (生き甲斐)

⦿ iki - means to live
⦿ g*i - means value or worth (literally "beautiful shell")

Ikig*i roughly means your "reason for being".

I was lucky to find mine young through two high school teachers.

The first was my art teacher.

Even when my work wasn't great, he encouraged me. When I had the crazy idea to make a music video (back when we had no camcorders or way to edit), he didn’t laugh. He helped me figure out how.

The second was my Honors Chemistry teacher.

On the first day, she pulled me out of class into the hallway to tell me I didn't "belong" there. I still remember my heart pounding through my ears, confused how someone who just met me could judge me like this.

I doubt either teacher knew at the time the impact their words had on shaping the rest of my life. I left high school knowing I wanted to be a teacher. More importantly, the kind of teacher I wanted to be. And the kind I didn’t.

Have you had a mentor or "anti-mentor" that helped shape your ikig*i?

P.S. If you’re new here, I’m PJ Milani /

I make visual metaphors like this as friendly reminders to help live a more intentional and creative life.

If that’s your jam, follow me for more daily insights.

Business start up training for Beauty Professionals in Birmingham!

That’s where we are this week🙂

On the move bringing support and real life experience to wherever and whoever needs it.

The ladies I’ll be working with today are currently unemployed and looking for a flexible alternative to work around their other commitments. I can say from personal experience that the beauty industry can certainly give you that and makes this weeks training even more close to my heart.

We offer training in all kinds of areas and specialise in certain but when you’ve done it and been there you know the advice and support you give is real, not theory and makes all the difference to those on the receiving end .

I’m so looking forward to this weeks training, I’ll keep you posted 😉
