Happy 75th birthday NHS!

To commemorate this special day I have been working hard over the last few months photographing our wonderful staff here at the Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

I wanted to move away from our usual corporate style and create something a bit more creative and emotive.

One of the things I love most about photography is you can start with a grain of an idea for a project and then it leads you somewhere completely different.
This project became so much more than a series of portraits. I’ve been here for 16 years and its taken me to places in the hospital I’ve never been, I’ve met teams I’ve never met before and learnt new things about the amazing services we provide here.
Despite the many challenges we face working for the NHS there is a recurring theme in the quotes I asked the staff to give me. Which is, we are like one big family here, QVH is special, there’s a reason people stay here for years and I’m very proud to be a part of it.
