FEEDBACK π
**I know that this image has been on many people's feeds all weekπ
These handwritten notes serve as a reminder that the sheer notion of Marketing is putting your work out there and inviting feedback (sometimes unsolicited).
Receiving (and more importantly "handling") feedback is a skill that we all balance with varying levels of success. And most of that is down to our own mood or feelings towards the person giving the feedback. π
Invariably feedback becomes a smoother process the longer you work with a person or client, but this can be a tricky initial hurdle to overcome...and to bury the hatchet to move on. So take time to build relationships before starting the first piece of work. Don't go into your first deliverable without knowing more about the person and trying to squeeze out as much information about what they like, don't like, and how it looks in their head.
Is there a fix? I don't know.
But my tips (for what it's worth):
π§ Remove your ego - it's not YOUR design. It's a design
π€ Be open-minded - other ideas could spark greatness
π Listen to the feedback - all too often we switch off thinking of counter-points
π‘ Avoid confrontation - you can always push back later in a follow-up call or meeting
