Whether outdoors or staying comfortably at home, taking things slowly can support overall well-being.

✨ Enjoy a gentle walk in the garden
✨ Stretch or move around the house at your own pace
✨ Sit by the window and enjoy the fresh air
✨ Listen to calming music or favourite songs
✨ Share stories and conversations with loved ones
✨ Spend quiet time with a hobby or a cup of tea
✨ Practice mindfulness and appreciate small moments of joy

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 reminds us that slowing down and enjoying life’s simple moments can make a meaningful difference every day.

that at At Home Care, you can meet your carer first?

We understand how important it is to feel comfortable with the person providing your care.

Where possible, we arrange introductions before care begins so you can meet your carer, ask questions, and ensure the relationship feels right.

Celebrating 2026

This year’s theme, , reminds us that joy is more than just a feeling, it plays an important role in our overall wellbeing.

Did you know?

Simple daily moments of joy can help:
• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Improve emotional wellbeing
• Encourage social connection
• Support memory and cognitive health in older adults
• Promote a better quality of life

At At Home Care, we believe wellness is nurtured through everyday experiences:
✨ Sharing conversations
✨ Staying active and engaged
✨ Enjoying favourite hobbies
✨ Spending time with loved ones
✨ Creating moments of comfort and familiarity

For those receiving care, especially older adults and individuals living with dementia, these small moments can make a meaningful difference to both mental and emotional well-being.

Because wellness starts with feeling valued, connected, and cared for every day.

It's the end of Carers Week, and on Wednesday, we spent the afternoon with the people it's all about.

We joined the 𝗛𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝘂𝗯 at The South Hill Centre, a regular get-together where unpaid carers in the area can swap stories, take a breather, and lean on each other. There was a bit of sewing on the go, plenty of chat, and (we'll admit) a box of doughnuts that didn't last long.

𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗺𝘀𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲 and 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗰𝗶 from our team went along to say hello and lend a hand. Most of the care given in this country never appears on a payslip. It's the daughter who calls in every morning before work, the neighbour who does the shopping, the husband who's become a full-time carer without ever planning to. They do it quietly, around the clock, and rarely ask for anything back. The same goes for the volunteers who keep hubs like this one running. They deserve our thanks far more often than once a year, so this week, loudly: thank you.

Thank you, too, to Carers in Hertfordshire for organising Carers Week, and to everyone who made us so welcome. We'll be back.

As we move through midlife (around our 50s and early 60s), it’s natural to start thinking about how we’ll feel as we grow older. In fact, new research from Age UK found that around three‑quarters of UK adults aged 50–65 worry about staying healthy as they age, and many fear losing independence too.

The good news? There are simple daily habits that can make a big difference to your long-term health, mood, mobility, and wellbeing, helping you enjoy life now and later.

Cancer recovery doesn’t end when treatment stops. For many older adults, the next chapter of healing begins at home surrounded by familiarity, comfort, and the right support.

At At Home Care, we understand that recovery is not only physical, but deeply personal. Our care is designed to support individuals through every stage of their journey, including:

🩺 Pain management support to help maintain comfort and stability
🚶 Mobility assistance to encourage safe movement and independence
💬 Emotional companionship to reduce isolation and build confidence

Because coming home after treatment should feel like a step forward, not a challenge.

With the right care in place, recovery can continue with dignity, reassurance, and peace of mind.

Staying mobile is key to independence and quality of life at home 💛

Our trained carers provide gentle, reassuring support with:

- Walking and standing
- Transfers from bed to chair
- Using mobility aids like frames or hoists

We work at your pace to help you stay confident, active, and safe—reducing the risk of falls while keeping you in the comfort of your home.
