How often do we assume a child won’t do something, when actually they can’t? 💛
A child who isn’t listening may be overwhelmed.
A child who walks away may be anxious.
A child who says “I don’t care” may be terrified of getting it wrong.
Behaviour is communication, and when we take the time to look beyond what we see on the surface, we often discover a child who is struggling rather than choosing not to engage.
This doesn’t mean expectations disappear. It means we seek to understand before we respond.
Sometimes the most powerful question we can ask isn’t:
❌ “Why won’t they do it?”
But:
💛 “What’s making this difficult for them?”
That shift in perspective can change everything.
If you’re concerned about your child’s behaviour, emotions, learning, or school experience, support is available and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
