How many times have you stopped yourself from recording or taking a photo, and posting it, because you feel like you don't look "professional" enough? Loads I'm willing to bet, because as women we're often self conscious and worried about how we're perceived.

If only you realised though that your authority is not built on your looks. It's built on how you come across, your body language, your tone of voice, and the humanity you portray.

I call those that hide the Secret Nightingale. So much beauty and messages to share, yet likes to keep herself hidden away. Is that you?

You never know who you're talking to when you're posting on social media. You never know who you're inspiring. I posted a reel a couple of days ago, and then a member of The Rise (my business mindset membership) shared that it had inspired her to make some changes.

Your message is important. By not sharing it you are doing people a real disservice. If you have something to share that you know will help people but you're keeping it to yourself who is that helping? It's keeping you safe, that's all.

What if you share it.
Your following grows.
Your reach grows.
Your business grows.
Your confidence grows.

None of that can happen if you keep your expertise to yourself.

So please, with love, just get over yourself and put something... anything... out there.

I'm sure you have things that you know you need to do, or want to do, and will benefit you, yet it's not happening because the judgement of others feels too much to handle.

In reality people aren't looking and judging, and if they are then they really should be more concerned with their own lives! The people that matter will support and celebrate you. So here's a little motivation for you to do the thing that feels a little stretchy or like it's a bit out of your comfort zone.

I drew an angel card before sitting down to work this morning.

The Eight of Air.

This is about feeling mentally trapped, when you're not really as trapped as you think. It's an illusion created out of a lack of self confidence and quite often shows up when self-doubt is in the picture.

Today of all days. How ironic!

Today I'm launching something new and right on cue that imposter syndrome showed up to try and impose it's power over me! I always have a bit of a wobble when launching something new.

But it doesn't have that power over me. Not anymore.

A wobble is natural, to stop yourself launching or making decisions because of it is not.

I've had a lot of conversation about imposter syndrome with women lately and it clearly doesn't look the same for everyone.

For some women it's perfectionism. For some it's hiding away and not being as visible as they should be, or would like to be. Some women get wrapped up in looking at what their competitors are doing because they don't really trust their own ideas. Some say yes to everyone until there's nothing left for themselves.

What if you knew......?

What if you woke up knowing it was going to be a great day in your business?

What if you got dressed and felt like an absolute icon and like you could take over the world?

What if you had total belief in yourself and your abilities?

Running a business is often like trying to push a 10 tonne truck up a hill covered in ice, especially if you feel like you're alone in it.

You absolutely can feel those things though.

Maybe you need a little support or to be in a community of other women in the same position (check out The Rise, link is in my bio), but you really can have that.

You know that decision you’ve been "thinking about" for the last three weeks?

Nothing? No? Go on, think about it. You know there's something on your list like that.

What about an offer you want to launch, the price increase for your services that you know is long overdue, or the email you’ve drafted four times (or maybe completely put off starting!) because you’re not sure how it will be received?

There will be something that you're delaying doing and it's not because you're not capable enough or good enough. You're simply letting self-doubt get in your way.

So I want to offer you a quick pattern interrupt today.

Most of the time, when women in business tell me they’re doing "extra research" or waiting for "the right moment", it isn’t actually about due diligence. It’s just become a clever, protective, socially acceptable way to hide.

It still feels productive because you’re busy reading, planning, and refining things, but really your business stays in the exact same place as it has done for a good while now, because YOU haven't actually moved.

You can't build real self-trust by sitting in the planning stage until you feel 100% safe. You build it by feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Doing it messy, taking the steps while your chest is a little tight from the nerves (not heart attack tight, you know what I mean!), and proving to yourself that you absolutely can handle whatever comes next.

A rejection, a ghosting, a negative comment. Sure they may happen, but is it the end of the world?

An acceptance, a new follower, a praising comment. How amazing!

You don't know until you try though, do you.

I've been working on launching something new, and I'm so happy to say that The Rise is now live and inviting founding members in.
